kinda tinted but not really
has anyone seen tail lights that are tinted but not tinted all the way. kind of like the blackline bmw tail lights.
http://www.dragtimes.com/images-clas...0543108966.jpg i want to tint mine but i don't want them 'fully' tinted. has anyone seen these before?? or if they could photochop something together? |
Check out AngeloSe3p .. Hes done that to this tail lights but his tints were alot darker :P Not my cup of tea if you ask me lol

venom's tints are totally blacked out. not the look i'm going for. and i know angelo tinted half of his tail light. not quite like the blackline bmw ones. i'm looking for a light full tail light tint but maybe more emphasized on some parts. just don't know which parts i would make darker. i don' tknow how to explain what i'm looking for hahah. like the blackline bmw ones are tinted, but the lines are darker.

I am completely confused by what you're asking...

On my old miata i was going for the same look. I used a film like window tint. Maybe try that but with a very very light tint? I say experiment!

I know what your talking about. I went light on my tint. not as light as that BMW but not nearly as dark as most. this might be a little darker than you are wanting. this is 2 coats of tinting paint with clear.

I remember seeing gh8st's RX8 and it had VERY light tint. Even lighter than the above RX8 and as hardly noticeable. If I recall correctly, he used one light coat.

I like the way it looks but I almost wish I had gone one coat more or less. But it’s perfect as far a clarity day and night. on my 3G eclipse I used a rattle can called "night shade" it turned out much the same way, a little darker though on a red tail light. I think you can still find it on the internet, but i would practice on something else first, allot of folks don’t wash the surface properly and it turns out all orange peely or dull in the finish. |

I really like the light tint, compared to the blacked out ones. Post pics if you go through with it op!

lol btw you could probably use the term "smoked" instead of "kinda tinted but not really"
|
but i'm not looking for smoked tail lights. hmmm maybe i got the wrong impression of the 'blackline' bmw tail lights. i always thought that they were sprayed with a very light tint, then another coat but only over the 'lines' and it was just another light coat. this way the 'lines' were more emphasized. i know our tail lights and the bimmer tail lights are very different, but i was looking for that kind of concept. i think this is a better explanation of what i'm kinda looking for. though i really like your tails ngo. it's there, but it's real subtle. i don't want it to be like BAM TINTED TAIL LIGHTS, yaknow??
i feel like my car is too white. i want some contrast in the tail light area, but i only want to tint them very little. and i noticed a lot of guys that do it get a gross brown color. or they go all the way black like the guy above. i'm not looking for either of these. i do appreciate the input though guys. this is really helpful for me. |
