Just Tinted My Taillights With VHT
7 Attachment(s)
hey, me and my friend just tinted my tails with vht today, i think it went pretty well, lemme know what you think.
i left it so you could see through a little, so i wouldn't get pulled over for having them totally black Attachment 258598 Attachment 258599 Attachment 258600 Attachment 258601 Attachment 258602 Attachment 258603 Attachment 258604 |
looks pretty good to me!
permanant??
yes, no films just spray
Not a fan of the dull appearance. You could polish them.
i just did them today, and i was searching online for ways to make them a lil more glossy, and suggestions?
light wetsand and polish.
and some clear coat
i tried clear coat and it came out grainy, so we just hit it with another vht coat and it evened out, so i didn't mess with the clear coat
looks good!! did you wetsand at all?
no sanding, jsut degreaser and cleaned. then strait vht spray
Wetsand after the vht to smooth it out. Then polish it.
Looks good. I was thinking of tinting mine red. I will probably go with the film though.
turned out okay other than needs to gloss it up.
i for one like the clear look of our taillights though, so not for me. |

^agreed, I like the way our taillights look. They would be perfect with about 35% tint on them though.
Like learycd's tails Attachment 258585 https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-multimedia-photo-gallery-6/tail-light-smoke-need-your-opinion-148351/ |

Yeah films are a pain in the ass. But if done right looks amazing. If you dont have close to 6 hours of free time to spend. Then dont bother haha |
6 hours!? Damn that's slow. I could do it in 1 or 2 at most.
it's all about skill level, the better you are the faster it goes.
I want to do films, but i know i'd just get angry, crumple them up, and huck them across the garage after about 30 minutes of frustration. lol

not if you do it right. I am sanding/vht/sanding/clearcoat/sanding/polish and leaving the red part clear and it will take 6+hours to do it right.
