jus a photoshop job....what do you think???

just thinking about debadging and decided to take it up with photoshop before doing anything rash. What do you think?????? :uhh:
|
I don't think it makes your car look any better or worse. It just makes people at a stop light stare at your rear and say, "What kinda car is that?" If you like the mystic and you have extra cash to burn, go for it.
|
You should photoshop that bodykit off. But I guess the debadging looks okay. Something is missing though.
|
Debadging is cool. I guess I never really saw the point in it though.

I like the whole de-badged look on some cars for sure especially if there aren't many of that particular car around.
For example, I have a old 5th Gen Celica that I removed the badges from when I had it painted (left the Toyota logo but removed the "Toyota, Celica and GT" badges from it and noone ever has a clue what it is... (not because its some expensive car or anything, but simply because noone around here really has one) I get people everywhere asking me what it is all the time, I like the idea of having something that people don't recognize, then again alot of people asked me what it was even when the badges were still on it. :) |

Have you ever seen a Honda with a bodykit that looks like a plastic shell was placed over the car? I mean huge plastic hangovers beside the wheels. That's what this RX8 looks like. If that is the look you want, you've got it.
Debadging, I think, gives an $8,000 look for this $31,000 car. When you see a debadged "Viper" it means it is just a wannabe-Viper bodykit. |
debadge looks cool IMO. yes i did it. haha.
veilside rear looks messy IMO. yes i don't have it. |

i took the badges off last summer and love the look
|
i think debaging is overrated... i painted my emblems black cuz i like the contrast.... but thats imo...
|
Let me se your emblems painted black please.
|
Art, i think i saw you this weekend.
on I4 headed into Otown. and im actually glad i did, going with VS, but since i saw your rear (car, not body :) ) having second thoughts. def doing the front bumper, rear will have to be given consideration |
I don't mind debadging the "Mazda" and "RX-8", but leaving the Flying M. Everything looks so cluttered back there with all three emblems. Debadging these 2 emblems would clean it up nicely.
|
Tru Dat^
|
man, you need some rims bad..
|
^haha
|
hook me up with some then.....xdeedubbx. If i need them that badly
|
hahahaha, no offense but i think rims should always come before body kits. It just looks way too incomplete. But things like this take time unless you have deep pockets. =)

yah i agree with xdeed, i tend to go supension>rims>engine mods>then body
|
THE best solution
I don't like it completely debadged, so I took off the "Mazda" from the left side, and the "Flying M" from the middle. I MOVED the "RX-8" to the center of the trunk, under the break light. It looks awesome! I'll try to take a pic when I can.
Upside - moving the RX-8 to the middle covers the 2 holes from the Flying M if you position it correctly. I still have to get the 3 holes from Mazda filled in though... |
Wait a sec, is that a Type R sticker on your car!? :Freak_ani :Eyecrazy:
|
you probably shouldnt base your decision on other peoples' opinions. if you like the look, let the debadging begin.

First let me just say, everytime a Veilside kit is put on an 8, baby jesus sheds a tear...
As for what deedubb said, I agree that rims/suspension/performance should come before looks, but things are not always what they seem. I, for instance, have a vented hood and Tsunami front end, NOT because my first priority was looks, but because some douche ran into me and I HAD TO replace the front end and hood (and why keep it stock?) Would I have rather put the money into stuts/sways - Exhaust/intake - Pullies and Flywheel - HELL YES. Peoples priorities change, so I wouldnt make much of a stink about him not having rims yet. Who knows, maybe his hand was forced like mine. Im sure he wants to see rims on his car more than you do :) As for the debaging... your car is already black, how much more stealth do you really need to be? I think leaving the flying M as someone else said would look fine, but debaging the car completely, especially with such a drastic body kit, its seems as though your ashamed to be driving an RX8. If youre gunna debage ANYTHING, it should be those horrendous Veilside logos all over your car. |
Why just de-badge? You should re-badge! A 350Z badge would add, like, 75WHP!

Seriously though, if you have to do something, this sounds best. |
I removed the rx8, painted the "flying Ms" black on front and rear and the word mazda body color (titanium gray)
After some body work was scheduled to repair/repaint my trunk, i forked up the $75 to have them fill the holes and get rid of all the rear badging, but thats just me .. i like the way cars look with no badges, all nice n clean clean |
It would look good if you smoked the taillights and the headlights and got a really aggressive carbon fiber spolier and hood. Then some nice rims. And finally if you have enough money left over, some performance mods to back up the aggressive look.
|
Oh, and fer gosh sakes, clear corners!
|
Seriously... a Type R decal!? :sadwavey::uhh::Wconfused :scratchhe :squint::icon_no2:

yeah thanks for the input everyone i am a person motivated by great deals and this was a steal for the kit. But i like the relocation idea and i will give it a shot. As far as clears go there on the way and rims i would love to get but my pockets just arent that deep. I am 21 and am in school so its kind of whatever i can get at a good price goes on next. As for mR. is that a type R decal., no... no its not. Its a veilside racing decal of very high quality which i enjoy very much thank you.... Any more questions from morons who cant read? Beers
|
Don't forget an APC sticker. That would be so much better than a type R decal.
