Jedi Made me - The 1980 Corvette Stingray Build

Since it seems we have some closet piston heads here - I have been asked a few time for pics.

So here is the thread about it yo!!!

I didn't get pics of the initial tear down - but I think you can see where we went to....

THIS IS BAD!!!!! If your lifters look like this - then you have problems...

See my to-do list; stay organized.

Interior - awaiting new carpet, dash and seats - thinking autometer for new gauges.

Motor - Light Street Cam, 62cc heads, 600 cfm Carb, New Manifold, Water Pump, Timing Chain, Headers, Torque Converter....aiming for 400+ nasty horsepower and 450 lb/ft of earthshattering torque.

It makes it easy when the paint and body are shot to sh*t from the get go... hehehe

That engine bay has plenty of room for a 20b. jk

Car looks like it has some really good potential.

It will take some effort - but after working on the RX8 for a year; this feels like a vacation.. I can actually get my fat hands where they need to be!

Once more cool thing - this is the first time that I will actually have to modify the hood to fit a motor in a car.... I am so excited!!! HAHAHA

THe Land Cruiser don't count since that was done because I thought it would be funny.

I believe the land bruiser was left behind in the desert.

Glad you got the thread up Kane, this thing should be a monster when you're done.

P.S. love the thread title. It's amazing what a little Jedi Mind Trick can get ya.

We built it - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9V0zpaqpFY

Then we broke it (well at least the tires) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpCsja7hTRQ

Then we left it in the desert - (Customs FTL!!!)

Update - new cam is in! FYI - you must disconnect fuel pump before taking cam out... DER!!!!!

We need to get a new timing cover; the heads and the IM and then we can time the cams. Old school tuning is gay; I miss the software HEH.

Headers are wrapped and ready to go.

It cleans the engine of dirt and grime....

It needs to take the fuel pump out before the camshaft or else it is kind of hard to pull it out. It may be slightly retarded....

It buys offerings for the car gods...

It only uses roller rockers......and it buys the heads preassembled so as not to F*ck up the valves.

It knows the engine must be able to breathe!!!

Out with the old...

It still has lots of crap to do......

Too many parts for me. But very cool build!

I suppose that all costs about $500 for the whole engine too.

Shopping for almost any other car is easier than shopping for the 8.
This build looks fun. Stingrays are awesome. I'll definitely be subscribing.
