I am now using a Voodoo ****, spun aluminum 2" round. I tried to go back to the stock for summer, no way, it feels like it is 6" tall. I will try to get a pic of it posted.

he has the black and chap. color combo--works well with that burl wood. It wouldn't work with any other color combo. I have black and tan so I would consider the wood too.

ARC Titanium. If you get one you better love it. The titanium is so much harder than the steel shifter, so it will crush the threads under heat cycles. that means it don't come off :-/

I'd use 7 optical gates and 7 LEDs and a single power source.

They'd have to be surface mount LEDs in order to fit inside the stock piece though. Then there's the positioning of the optical gates. You have to make it so that they're mounted on something that wont get so hot that it'll melt them (they're usually plastic) and you also want to make sure you can trigger each one w/o impeding your ability to shift.

Gates are a pain like that. It'd have to be done very smart in order to be done right.

Otherwise, you have to put them in the tranny itself and that's not a good idea. I'm trying to think of another good way to do it but I'm drawing blanks.

Same here! Did you lock the tip of the boot to the bottom of the ball? Mine has a weird gap.

I don't know that I would like a shift **** that did not come off, might make cleaning the boot a little more difficult.

Finally took a couple pics of my Voodoo aluminum ****. I really like it. I had the pearl finish, but did not like it as much. I even got the little glove for it, for those times when it is either really cold, or really hot.

^^I like that e brake handle. Wonder what it loks like when it is in the disengaged position. Everyone that rides with me thinks my ebrake is up, when it is not.
