Been a year now of owning my 06 GT but I have been around them for a long long time. Started off with a few Mazdaspeed Proteges that where pretty built but left Pittsburgh and came down the FL So I wanted RWD finally.
I took ownership of the car with a fair amount already done, Trade my built MSP for it but over the year I have changed a good bid and still plugging away at it. Wanted to keep the sparco seat but I was just too fat for it lol. So from the cars I have parted out I was able to quickly add in the interior and get in some cloth seats. Changed wheels a few times till I found the RPF1s I really wanted which is what im rocking now and will most likely be staying with. The plan for the car is mostly AutoX but I will eventually be getting into more track days. These first few shots of when I first picked up the car and started to throw in the 40th Anniversary Interior. Found out that leather seats are higher up and you slide in them pretty good. Also swapped out the faded Carbon Fiber hood for black till I could get a white hood. Then I ended up trading a kid my old CF hood and the black one for his white hood. Its a 34k so its off just a little in the shade but works for me.
Also went to my First AutoX event which was a blast, RWD is so much for fun the my FWD MSP haha. Picked up a set of EvoX wheels which I loved on the car, fitment was perfect. 18x8.5 +38 Offset Attachment 282863 Attachment 282864 Attachment 282865 Attachment 282866 Attachment 282867 Attachment 282868 Attachment 282869 Attachment 282870 Attachment 282871 Attachment 282872 Attachment 282873 Attachment 282874 Attachment 282875 Attachment 282876 |

Then I read about the intake setups and wanted to try the modified OEM intake with the Racing Beat Duct. That is what im currently using right now, might eventually try an AEM intake down the road.
Some pictures of how I did the intake setup. Ever since I owned the car 2nd gear has been bad so once I get some free time ill be swapping the transmission and slapping in a 4.77 Diff too.
Right now im in the process of redoing all the control arm bushings and installing the Energy Suspension bushings, once I get that done ill be raising up the car a bit and getting it corner aligned and corner balanced. |
building and breaking, i see u having fun my friend, u go man!

Ya it makes my life MUCH easier having a steady a supply of parts haha.
