Looks good

Matrx8 05-21-2012 01:04 AM

Very nice. How's the ride?

fd3s777 05-21-2012 01:15 AM

If you keep it low driving is very good. But never lift it and drive, it will be very bumpy. Center sturts are just like high performance coilovers. You can adjust hard or soft.

Matrx8 05-21-2012 01:18 AM

I'd love to drop mine like that, but there's speed bumps and God-aweful driveways everywhere.

Yeah but it'd be just my luck that I'd forget and rip my bumper off lol

Never been a fan of air ride imo. I think its just an excuse for people not being able to take the challenge of driving low everyday. But still looks good. to each their own right.

Do you drive at 0 psi? Is 0 psi height adjustable when you install or is it predetermined by AirRex?

SubliminalPollution 05-21-2012 12:44 PM

Very nice.

bose 05-21-2012 12:52 PM

How does it drive?

Well it's either that or don't lower it at all for me. If not wanting to scrape my entire car over 5 speed bumps a day makes me a coward, I'm fine with that.

I like how quickly it raises/lowers.

Oh, and just for those interested, I asked a guy in phoenix who's a AirREX dealer what he charges since I couldn't find out on the interwebz.

Thank you for contacting us about AirRex Suspension for your RX-8.

Allow me to start off by letting you know that FB Customs does not perform any installation of products. We refer all of our clients to Willy Dixon at Hawaiianxbzee Inc for installation. You can contact him at 623-302-3237 for a quote.

There are a couple routes we can go with this setup. One would be the AirRex struts with the AirRex wireless air management system. This kit would include everything needed for install and comes directly from AirRex. This kit is $5231.97 including tax and shipping.

The next route would be the AirRex struts with an air management kit put together by us which includes: 1 Viair compressor, 1 tank, manual valves with switches, airline, install kit with wiring, and 2 dual needle gauges. This does NOT include any fittings. This kit is $3688.40 including tax and shipping.

I can also sell you just the AirRex struts if you would like to piece together your own air management kit. The price for the struts by themselves is $2871.27 including tax and shipping.

If you plan on running camber, there are camber plates available for these struts as well. They run about $500 for all 4 corners or $250 to just do the front.

Let me know if you have any questions or would like more information.

seems a little high to me price wise. I know alot of guys with air ride on different vehicles and most have that in their whole show set up. Not just some bolt in air struts. Unless there is something crazy I don't under stand with the RX8 susp.

lepichichi 05-21-2012 04:12 PM

Nice

pdxhak 05-21-2012 04:46 PM

The AirRex is not your typical "air ride". This setup comes with adjustable dampers and has performance in mind. Not saying it is as good as high performance coilovers but it seems like they would be a lot better then the typical setup.

caidoz 05-21-2012 06:42 PM

The kits for Subaru's are almost 2k cheaper. I would love something like this but not if I feel like I'm getting ripped.

At 50 Psi is the best. Not bumpy like most air suspensions. High Performance coilovers makes it turn even faster in coners. I'm going to do a time attacj sometime next week on this 8. Will post Video.
