At the moment I dont have any plans to port it over to the iphone since the API is different and I really dont have the resources to build and support two apps for two different platforms. I would be more than happy to help out anyone who undertakes that project though.

I appreciate the help offering, but this is not an open source project at the moment. Like the tap-a-talk application, I intend on offering a free version that offers viewing of threads and limited options, and a paid version that would support posting and more advanced forum features.

Wow, awesome. The current RX8Club app is horrible, but this seems much more intuitive. I've been waiting for something that is as efficient as Rx7club's app.

I doubt you want people to start telling you things you should add, but a user CP button would be a nice addition from the current mobile site. Looks great either way!

Are you targeting Android 2.3, or is that just the version your simulator in the video was using? Just curious.

If the code is native Android, then yeah, an iOS port would be difficult. There are some avenues you can take to re-use the code, however, and I wouldn't be opposed to helping if people wanted that functionality. Gotta give back to the community as a newb somehow ;)

Jellybean or bust!

Base compliance is 2.3 because of the integrated cookie managers work a lot better there than 2.2. If there is a good amount of users that need 2.2, I wouldn't be adverse to catering to that after an initial build goes out and is well received.

I wouldn't say there is any native android code minus the preference managers and such, all of which would have an ios equivalent.

Call me an idiot but what's wrong with the mobile version of the website?

SayNoToPistons 09-09-2012 08:05 PM

Nothing. It works as intended, but it leaves much to be desired for. The process it takes to get to a specific thread is strenuous (for the lack of a better word) with so many taps/clicks. If you've tried comparing a well programmed forum app against the mobile site or the inferior existing app, you'd know what I mean.

Subbed. I'll probably buy it either way, but i'd pay more if there was a version that had Live! working. (As previously noted :) )

paimon.soror 09-11-2012 05:53 AM

no worries, working on it ;)

Awesome! I'm looking forward to this. The current forum reader app for android is pretty bad...
