Can you guys show me your Roll cage
Ok guys, I'm contemplating the idea of installing a rollcage in my car. I'm not 100% sure thats something I really will like becouse I kinda love my car looking as stock as possible, specially inside. I have done some research and have seen many rollcages out there, but to be honest the only one that I like so far its the autopower. Its simple and Id like to keep oit that way. Never the less I would like for you guys to show me what you have and give me your ideas.
I am not asking you to do any research, so please no stupid posts about that. Just want to see your pics and opinions. |
Cage or bar?
|
I have the AutoPower Street / Strip bar in my 8. More info in THIS thread.

I might be calling it wrong.. My english is not the best in the world..
|
Yea, Ive seen it and like it. I actually commented on that thread. Thats is my favorite.
|
Cage will go full interior...doors, dash, ..
roll bar is just a roof bar and supports I have the same bar as Expo...except I have the diagonal bar as well... |
In that case, A roll bar will do for me. BTW it looks GREAT
|
Lookin good Expo
|
why did you keep rear seats in with that cage? It makes it look unusable?
|
What are you looking to do?
Bars like those shown in this thread are not "legal" by any of the typical sanctioning body rules and are really just for show - they don't afford you any real roll-over protection. They are just harness anchors. Without the front bars, these things just give your head something to get mashed into. |
autopower race bar with bolt in cross bar and diagonal brace
not sure about roll over protection, but works pretty well as a harness bar and stiffens the chassis quite a bit. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4010/...f965fa58_b.jpg http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4003/...76136279_b.jpg |

Ahh.
Yeah, for DE you don't need a bar at all. The rear anchors are allowable. For TT, this kind of setup isn't allowed. |

no, it just makes it like a rollercoaster feel for kids in the back seat...lulz |
ha ha ha sorry the roller coaster comment made me spit up my coffee. ha ha
|
Anybody with a rollcage pic then. Id like to see how those look.
|
A full cage makes it MANDATORY that you wear a helmet..so not really a good thing for a street driven car...
Jeff: Not sure why you think it would offer no rollover protection at all. |

Here is the thing. I have always loved 1/4 mile racing and even thought its not what I built the car for I will take it once in a while to the track. in drag racing if you havent modify your stock firewall and floor you can use a roll bar all the way down to 10.00 anything quicker than that you will need a cage and anything over 135mph will need a cage regardless of E.T.
RGonza went 147mph. Thats the reason im contemplating the use of a rollcage. Dont really like the idea though. THats why I asked to see some pics. |
anyone have pictures of a full cage?
|
I had a full Autopower roll cage in my RX7's. However, I don't have any pictures of the cage, just the cars. I can try to answer any questions you may have.
|
:( I like it better without the cage
|
so far some nice setups
