AZ R3 04-21-2012 09:32 PM

Did you go with 18" or 19" wheels?

Your car is sick - very tasteful JDM

^ oh nice! is it just me, or does your fog lamp look blue?? did you get it tinted blue, or had a blue overlay? :)

and "D Rob" how do you like the red? The red always seems to look a bit dull in pictures, but then it looks better in person, right? Like...glossier and sharper??

D Rob 04-22-2012 12:08 AM

I like it, but for one as "virgin" as I wanted there were no other color options (for 2011). Yeah, a wax would probably help but the red is rather maroon-ish, and my camera is the best point and shoot money can buy, in 2007 lol. So that doesn't help.

really?!! interesting...I wonder if shade of red is different between United States and Canada??

The red I test drove last time looked muchhh shinier than in the picture, and did not appear maroon-ish...hmmm!!!

What camera do you have D Rob? It is a nice picture!! :)

The only thing i don't like on the R3 are the tail lights, but overall, it looks good.

RMXG8 04-22-2012 02:15 AM

thanks guys! i actually raised it up from the first pic i posted, the car was pretty much sitting on chassis then, as i would scrape road deflectors evreytime i would change lanes. and im acutally planning to get a new set of rims specially for track use only so yea i will be running bigger tires, this current setup will be for street use only.=)

Yup, that was blue overlay. Gave the light a small blue hue too.

The tail lights are the same for all series 2 regardless of R3 or not.

Not bad.

Where did you source the springs and spacers from? How did it alter the handling?

I worry about dropping the car and spacing the wheels because the handling is exactly perfect for me the way it is. I worry about upsetting the balance. Although your drop is exactly where I'd want mine to be, since I don't want a car that will have me going 1 mph over speedbumps.

I got the springs from Good-Win Racing and the spacers from amazon.com. My R3 is my daily driver. I have an s2000 for track days and summer driving, so ultimate handling is not a huge concern with my R3. The springs went on just fine, it's a very minimal drop (less than 1 inch all around). I would say the front lowered a bit more than the rear but I have had no trouble with speedbumps or even snow (I did trim off a bit of the front bumpstop). I drive the car year-round and have snow tires for the winter. This past winter was pretty tame but I had no clearance issues. The spacers have changed the steering feel a bit, but the car still feels fine and still handles like it should. I would say it feels even more oversteer-prone than stock, which I prefer (coming from an s2000).

Nope.. It's std issue since 2010. It reads "War of 1812" in the inscription. I personally prefer the old plain MD tags with just the state's flag/crest in the middle.

Ah. Here's how the AZ veteran tags look:

I like that about the spacers. I was worried making the wheels come out more on the corners by spacing might make it understeer, which I hate.

i love the back windows, with them open it makes the wind with the windows down far less brutal, but yes i have forgotten a few times aswell, but plus side is they dont open far so not much rain gets in unless it is pouring

Maybe you grew up there and haven't moved away? What an awkward post... Nice car though.

a2rotor 05-04-2012 09:31 AM

Moved here from Western PA for job. not staying much longer. The roads are aweful and there are no good places to cruise. Going AutoX this weekend though.
