I see some have painted there Engine covers. What kind of paint was used?

I want to paint my covers too. You guys must have used some kind of paint and gloss coat that can hold up to the heat coming from the engine.
Thanks for the info,
-Gill

Ah, I tried to paint my engine cover and it was a disaster. Looks terrible. Now its sitting in the garage. I need to somehow heat all of that paint off and try again. Any ideas besides cooking it?

Moostafa29 07-19-2006 09:46 AM

^Have someone do it professionally.

Do not cook it!. Try useing Turpentine to remove the paint.
Turpentine
1. oil used as solvent: a colorless, flammable, strong-smelling essential oil. Use: paint solvent, in medicine.

I feel the need to ask. Why do so many people use hot-air intakes?

Adding a little bit (1.5') extra piping, while removing the filter from the engine bay...seems well worth the hassle. Especially since I find my RX8's underhood temps being MUCH higher than my RX7's.

NgoRX8 07-23-2006 10:08 PM

cuz some people are scared of taking off the bumper. lol
