Hey guys,
I just bought my very own Shinka last week and it came with clear corners, and chrome fenders. I know its not a very good angle of them but do they look okay?
Should I switch back to the stock black fenders? And what color strakes would look best: carbon fiber, copper red, or chrome to match the fenders?
Thanks!

Um...
I think you're getting your terminology confused.
Fenders are the actual entire body exterior that the tire/wheel goes under. You don't have chrome fenders, you have red shinka colored fenders to match the rest of the car paint, as you should and as anyone with a car should have the fender color matching the rest of their car's body color. Otherwise it would look horrible.
I think you're referring to strictly just the fender venst? If so I think what's on there (chrome) looks fine. Looks better than black or carbon fiber because the red shinka already is a dark color so the chrome or machined color looks fine on it to break the colors up, just my 2 cents.

Hey thank you for the quick correction... obviously I just made a fool out of myself but um yeah the silver part on my car that is black on everyone elses? Not sure what that vent part is called but I'm leaning towards the lighter color as well

Don't worry about it, as you're a girl most here will cut you a break and not bust your ***** since this is vastly a guy populated forum and they like eye candy....
At least you're honest about not knowing, everyone starts somewhere learning about the rotary or cars in general, no worries.
The screen behind the fender is referred to as, the fender vents. There are strakes that go horizontally across them (2x) and those are called fender strakes.
Take a look at this link: http://www.evo-r.net/product/RX-8/index.htm
Scroll down and on the right you'll see Carbon Fiber fender vents which are what you're referring to. Scroll down even further and you'll see Carbon Fiber fender strakes.

Welcome Manda, definitely go back to black or carbon fiber unless you have something else that is chrome on your car, nice choice btw.

I like the clear corners, the car is somewhat dark. As for the fender grills, my opinion is black with chrome fender strakes like in my pic (2 posts above yours)

You have the honor to be one of them! And not an imitation (painted and modded interior...) How many Shinka's were special order? (same interior, same suspension but different exterior color?) Now that's a good question...
Heck, I've seen some beautiful CX7's in Copper Red.

I am looking at having my car repainted... There are dings from parking lot jerks, hood dings and gouges... I guess that she is looking pretty rough in spots. But the question is, should I have it painted copper red again or should I do something different? Man, I just can't decide. Also my rims look like hell and have since I bought the car 3 years ago. The previous owner destroyed them by letting (lug nut grease?) slop all over the rims and now it has corroded the finish. Ive considered getting new or having the existing powder coated/painted. So yeah, my shinka is in need of some lovin'. No matter what I want my shinka to stand somewhat apart from other copper red shinkas. Whatcha guys think?
