I haven't seen a shinka in person but from most of the photos I've seen it almost looks black. In person do you really see the true black cherry color come through?

Not only does the cherry come out, but there are blues on this car. Almost into the deep near-UV range. Very strange, eerie, beautiful effect.

I need to set up a shoot with my car -- a proper shoot -- all clean n' polished, in a suitable location, with a low sun angle.. sounds like I need to scout the A1A for locations.. the only way this car photographs well is when lit perfectly.

Unlike the picture below.. that's my shinka. :)

Did a check and seems to be 8 Shinka's in my area, I'll have to take a look at one. Too bad Navigation isn't an option on them. Have that in my Murano and I'm addicted. Yes please take some nice pics, I'd like to use that as my wallpaper.

Is the leather the same as in the regular 8's but just a different color or is there a difference in the quality?

Why go Nav when you can just as well enjoy the drive... :D

here's a couple of photos I came across that are pretty close to what the black cherry looks like in good sunlight with the naked eye....its very difficult to get the exact light and angle to pick it up without getting glare....for me that is :D

Looks great! My rotors rust like that every time I wash it too. Just one more reason to take her out for a drive. :D

Calling all Shinkas! Check out the red/blue combo footwell lighting near the bottom of this thread posted by Rotary Rasp. I think it will go well with the black cherry color. I think I will try it.

Hi, here is my aussie titanium grey shinka. We dont call them shinkas here. They are known only as 'limited editions' in OZ. We only have 110 in the country. 55 titanium grey and 55 'radiant ebony' which is the same colour as your black cherry. Interior is the same as well as all the features. I got mine in april 05 and lovin it!! :) (Sorry if the pictures dont show, Im new at this! - ill keep working on it)

Bought mine 7/9/05, and it's been pouring here EVERY DAY since... friggin' SUCKS. Going to take some pictures during the day tomorrow if I get some sunlight.

someone named Lock and Load in the Aussie forum thinks that guys that own shinka's are wusses.....I'd like some feedback on this unsettling remark....
Im a lady and I still dont like his inuendo......what say you all!!!

My thoughts are that future limited editions will have different names. I love my Shinka, but from a designing point of view, I'd really hope that they put more effort into future limited editions to really have more differences than the stock 8's.

I have noticed this also. But hey you can't please everyone, and all I care about is how much I absolutely love this car. I have never been a car fanatic until the day I test drove my RX-8.

I think it's silly that some 8 owners are not mature enough to respect other 8 owners. But hey, it's nothing to sweat, just look back to my first paragraph.. I LOVE MY CAR!! :D

I agree, like a certificate to show limited status. :p

Hey, would somebody print up a limited edition Shinka certificates for us? If its done professionally I'll gladly pay for it.
