I'm going to black out my oranges.

pdxhak 04-01-2009 04:27 PM

Is it just me or is everyone painting the OE wheels...

OP,

It really needs tuner lugs, black center cap, drop and clears.

dozer 04-01-2009 04:28 PM

PD i agree with everything you just said

Clear Corners or Blacked Out Corners...not sure which yet..
A drop would make it impossible for me to get in my driveway because i already scrape.
Does anyone know how to get the mazda symbol off the center caps so i can paint them?

pdxhak 04-01-2009 04:46 PM

IMO too much black is overkill. It helps to have some subtle color breaks that flow with the overall look of the car.

AngryBumblebee 04-01-2009 05:02 PM

clear sidemarkers keep center cap and lugs the same and get tinted rear tailight overlays. and tint on windows. Check out how I did my car... its in SSGGBB multimedia thread posted by rawrx8

PSTNLSS 04-01-2009 06:06 PM

It's illegal here and i'm not allowed to drive anyone for another 6 months so the less cop attention the better.

pdxhak 04-01-2009 06:28 PM

what about tinting your rear window?

Zepo. 04-01-2009 06:31 PM

Doing that soon. Havn't been in the mood for smashing myself against the cramped back area.

Fortunate Few 04-02-2009 12:29 AM

very hot but please paint the center caps for some reason everyone forgets to.

+1 on smoking the fronts too.

jish54 04-02-2009 01:18 AM

the way i did mine was i took off the wheel and pushed the center cap through then pried off the emblems. its pretty easy and fast and should only take like 10-15 minutes. be really careful when you pry though try to pull straight out or else one or more pins will break off. i broke about two pins in the recent process of painting mine i had to super glue the emblem back onto the center cap. other than that i think i did a fantastic job lol

emmers 04-02-2009 05:02 AM

by the way looks very sexy! i think either or with the clear or blacked out corners would look really nice, anything but orange!

N rider89 04-02-2009 05:21 AM

yeah the mazda symbol has some tabs that go through that you can just pop through. paint'em and the pop the symbol back in.

jaudash 04-02-2009 08:39 AM

Sand Really Good > 3 Coats Dupli-Color Wheel Paint (Flat Black) > 2 Clear Coats.
