Here's the one I wanted to put on my 8 before I sold it.
Hood Never wanted carbon fiber, but loved the look of the vents. |
Do not EVER get a Chaser hood! I got one for my 350Z and it was a horrible fit, even after $500 worth of body work.

Anyone had the Seibon TT on theirs? I like that hood but I think that it doesn't fit properly and you also potentially need hood pins?
|
of the replica brands out there, Seibon's fitment is probably a much better bet then ebay brands or VIS.
hood pins on our cars are completely unnecessary. |

hood pins on our cars are completely unnecessary. Second time I've utilized your help this week... as I was pulled over waiting for a tow truck and I came across your dead alternator thread from way back on my phone. I threw the P2503/2502 code too on my way home from work. What an expensive PITA! |
glad I could help.
yeah, our alternators are not cheap. :cussing: /end rant |
do you hide the car when it rains? i would think with the vents that you would have water issues, or it doesn't matter lol..
i've been looking for a hood my self but just haven't jumped on the CF wagon yet. |

The Varis comes with rain ducts. (ie; it's trays that you screw in on the underside of the hood so that it diverts all water down towards the front bumper and away from engine components)
Not that any of that matters for me since my car isn't driven in the rain. This is where you'll typically find my car. Attachment 242982 |
I always liked the Seibon KS Style hood. Forget if that is a replica of someone else though.

i've been looking for a hood my self but just haven't jumped on the CF wagon yet. Water isn't an issue under the hood.... depending on your intake set-up but for the most part, in the rain water is getting into your engine bay anyway while you drive.... and when I wash my bay I give it a low pressure sprinkle of water to get rid of all the dust. Edit: I also love that hood too PDX |
correct, all newer cars have water sealed components so even if water DID get into the hood (via the vents), you should be fine.
|
I have cleaned (carefully) my engine bay several times using Simple Green and a hose. Way more water then any down pour would put in the engine bay.
|
i think the best looking hood is the Leg motorsports one, but i havent seen any one here say they had one here in the states....
