Been Looking But Cant Find Good Pics

I have recently put stechs on my anni...... I must say alittle disappointed in the drop. It rides nice i just thought it would hug the tire more. They have been on for about 1200 miles. I was considering gettin new springs that went alittle lower. Can you guys post some pics of different springs? H&Rs always looked good and ride great on other cars......

search for the springs springs springs thread

Rotr8 09-03-2008 09:15 PM

yup Stechs are the most conservative of the Teins,,, I have the type flex and its a nice 2" drop that hugs my 18s
EDIT VVV Imput is right...

imput1234 09-03-2008 09:24 PM

no ^H techs are

Sprint springs are pretty low. But you'll have to change the shocks eventually. That's why some people just invest in coilovers.

pdxhak 09-03-2008 10:50 PM

Did you measure your height before and after? Did you get the full drop? If not then did you preload?

NgoRX8 09-03-2008 10:54 PM

switch to coilovers, you'll be able to adjust it to whatever height you want exactly.

TopGear8 09-03-2008 10:54 PM

Yeah man most people lowered on S-Techs are pretty low, and hug the wheel nicely...Sounds like you didn't preload.

RedefineRX8 09-04-2008 11:06 AM

+1

preloading is a MUST. I noticed the difference in my S-techs easily.

Jedi54 09-04-2008 12:11 PM

did someone say pre-load?! Yup, that's what you gotta do to get the springs to settle properly

Decat 09-04-2008 12:18 PM

Yeah my STechs are almost too low, but just right for me.

They should drop the front 1.4" up front and .7" in the rear. The gap should have closed up nicely.

pdxhak 09-04-2008 12:24 PM

Hey jedi,

How many inches is your front lip off the ground? Thinking that may help the OP.

dozer 09-04-2008 12:41 PM

i got RSRs ...and mine sits pretty low i love it and its also stiffer than stock, but i got no pics

I can go outside and measure. Hmmm, wonder if there's a ruler around here somewhere. Be right back...

Decat 09-04-2008 01:06 PM

I can only fit one finger in between the tire and wheel well horizontally on all four corners, except the left rear and then I can barely get my pinky finger in there at a slight angle

Here's a High Res picture of mine on Sprint Springs... my front lip has 2" of ground clearance (basically the tall end of a credit card)

op - can you post a pic? i had the same reaction when i got my s techs done. can almost guarantee it's the preloading issue, which is a pretty easy fix. unless you want the car "slammed", s techs will get rid of the wheel gap entirely.

just what are you measuring

RotorMotor 09-04-2008 06:04 PM

Seriously, how the hell do you guys get around town with only 2" of clearance or less? I'd be hitting speed bumps everywhere. Hell, just pulling into my uphill driveway and I'd probably hit....

Your front lip looks higher than 2"

Jedi54 09-04-2008 06:12 PM

we need a picture of Ngo's car in here. He'll show you guys LOW clearance!
