Countdown to Mazda's Special 40th Anniversary website launch on May 30th.

The site will also feature a "Blog Widget" where you can post your comments on
the Mazda Rotary Engine

As of May 30, Mazda Motor Corp. issued the following press release:

Mazda Celebrates the 40th Anniversary of the Rotary Engine Vehicle

Today marks the 40th anniversary of Mazda's first rotary engine powered
vehicle. As of the end of April 2007, Mazda has manufactured approximately
1,970,000 rotary vehicles since production first began.

I am thinking we will see a Special 40Th Anniversary RX-8 at the Tokyo Motor Show in October, along with the "upgraded" RX-8 for next year???

That would be nice. Hopefully something better then a new key and a clear washer fluid reservoir.

I never knew the rotary engine and I have the same birthday (although, it's some 15 years my elder) . No wonder it's so tempermental, it's a freaking GEMINI!

I don't need to race to prove it, thats what God invented dynos for. I'm definitely over 250.

Interesting how the 1,000,000th rotary car was made in 1979, took almost 30 years to make the next million. Of course then, they were making everything rotored.
