RX-8 2 Seat Convertible?
 

Latest issue of R&T had their thoughts on the next Miata. But the pic shown looks so much like an 60% size RX-8 it's erie! Mentioned possibility of dropping a rotary in it, as it is built on the RX-8 platform.....hummmm

Think 2495lbs light... 265hp strong... 4.8s 0-60... and some race rubber? :eek: Can you imagine an RX-8 Roadster out on the track, chasing down and whipping past those pre-gen Miatas, Porsches, Evos, and STIs out there on any curve of your choosing? The rip-saw 9000 rpm song of the rotary as background music... whilst the wind blows through your hair..... :D

I like the uniqueness associated with the 8 and I don't like how every new Mazda looks like it has a piece of RX8.

I read in C&D the miata will be offered with a variant of the Mazda 3S engine, with 2L displacement, and perhaps the option of the 2.3. That 2.3 would be awesome, and render the current MSMiata (more) worthless in terms of performance increases over stock miatas.

Yeah, I met my dad for brunch last weekend. When we walked out there was a red 3 sedan parked a row in front of my car. My pops laughed and said "it looks like a little sedan version of your car".

That prototype Miata almost looks like a Z3 to me
