Ready for more hate? Recent Cars.com RX-8 review.
Quite possibly the last review of the RX-8 in North America from a big source like cars.com . For the weak hearted, dont read the comments  .

I thought in general the review was positive, which is nice to see.
|
I made a comment.
I couldn't help it :) |
Everyone should be trolling out the trolls in the comments.
|
I read some of them, and well i guess they are pissed that there mommys and daddys didn't get them one lol, and some just dont understand, that HP isn't everything, cuz its not going to help you in the twistys ,, if i wanted that i would have bought somthing different or upgraded the snot out of my GSX..
but i do say, if your going to review a car, WASH it first gesh, what a bunch of asshats... /endrant |
The Rx8 has a sticker price of 33k? Funny, I usually sell dealerships selling R3's for $27,000-$29,000 brand new.

sadly, most of the American public got this "bigger/more is better" deeeeeeeply in their minds.
It's funny that on my last AutoX it was dominated by smaller hp cars. :) |
Review was pretty decent. Comments were terrible... People that have never driven one bashing it. Tsk tsk..

The 8 is like a musical instrument: if you don't play, it's just a bunch of metal and plastic to be measured and weighed. They'll never get (or care about) the *experience* of playing, of "becoming" the instrument.
Some people "become instruments" but most are just born tools :wiggle: BTW: Is anyone getting anywhere NEAR 16/22MPG!? I dont even get the low spec of that, but then again, I drive the hell of of my car... |

The never ending complaints about fuel economy and torque/horse power make sense - but only from the perspective that many people look at the "sticker" price of $33K for the GT in the review and then start comparing the RX-8 to other cars of similar price. |

I actually get in the low 20's with mine if I behave myself. Way more than that on the highway. Probably close to 30 mpg. I haven't driven it on a really long haul yet but all indications point to that.
On another note...that behaving myself part is few and far between. |
I think it's quite funny how someone who has never driven an rx8 claims to know everything about them. I understand the fact that there's such thing as 'fanboys' and they just research the numbers and base their opinions based on that. Go out and drive the car and then give an EDUCATED opinion!

What hate? Just a very basic review. I think it went unnoticed for the most part. I rarely go to cars.com, its always autotrader for me.
|
16/22 whoa it went down i thought it would go up.
my 06 is 18/24 but i always used to get around 20. HEYNoW. |
How the hell do you get the mileage. lol I get 12 no matter how I drive.
|
Sounds like you need to check a few things on your car. I get low to mid 20's if I drive on the freeway. 12 is pretty low for 'no matter how I drive.'
|
There's some thin skin around here if you want to call that review "hate". The comments weren't even that bad. Sure you have a couple of ignorant knuckleheads mixed in there, but the comments from more normal folks were fair.
