Mazda RX-8 'True Red Style' Special Edition on Sale in Japan
|
Not that impressed. I wish Mazda would do something significant, and not just change a few interior things here and there.
|
"True Red Style"...right.
|
They dont even have the red leather interior, it was a nice try. I remeber in 93 when they release the rx-7 and they had full on colored leather interiors, not even two tone. Nice find any way.
on another note why does road and track call the Kabrura (that new thread) a possible rebirth of the rx-7?? |
Because
A) It's 2500 lbs. (uhh, I think?) B) If it came with a renesis, that would put it right around 10 lbs./HP...making it on par with 350Z's, S2000's, and FD's. |
i "red" this today and thought "im not even going to post it"
|
ummmm yea....why doesn't mazda go ahead and do something to impress us, yea, that would be great

Mazda and their wacky anticks. Anyways, Mazda always seems to impress me now and days. Ever since the death of the rx7 in the U.S. (God rest their souls), Mazda went out of the lime light until the rebirth of the rotary in 03 (again in the U.S., Mazda Japan on the other hand, i have no complaints about) and the Mazdaspeed Protoge 5. I feel like we're all asking Mazda too much like spoiled little children (not to offend anyone). Once we got something good (rx8, mazdaspeed vehicles), we want more and sure they're giving us more but more specifically, we want more with the 8. I think Mazda is rippling out and balancing all their vehicles and they dont want to spend a great deal of time making the 8 better and neglecting all their other vehicles. I feel that we should just all wait and be patient with Mazda. Atleast their still giving thought to the 8 with their wacky anticks. And also, Mr. Big Brother U.S. with their emissions standards are holding a lot of good Mazda cars from coming to the shores (Mazdaspeed RX-8 A-spec, Mazdaspeed RX-8 Ver.II, 95+ Mazda RX-7's and etc). Mazda's trying, and happy with the work that their doing so far. No complaints from me. Just my little thought about this.

It's only a new color w/ shinka-like add-ons. how about something drastic...

Not impressive. Their new MPV with 245hp is. Of course it's not coming to the US.

Looks like a recycled Prototype Red RX-8 to me. Nice - the current Red should have been this colour IMO. When I got my RX-8, I planned for the Red - but changed my mind when Mazda at the last minutes changed to the Metallic Red from a pure Red. Up to that point all the PR had the red as a pure Red - slightly darker than this new Red.
|
If you were to say "BlueEyes, I'm dissapointed in the progress Mazda is making with the Rx-8, what do you think they will do next with it?" Obvously my initial answer would be a smart assed one, and in all honesty, I would not come up with something as lame as the 'True Red Style' Rx-8.

the Japanes market loves these little special editions tho and thats what its intended for.

True Red & Copper Red are normal colors for the new 3rd gen MX-5 Miata. Velocity Red Mica is a Special Edition color for the Miata.
VR is the normal red for the RX8, Copper Red is for the Shinka II, and now there's this True Red version in Japan. Too funny, Mazda is milking these red colors for all their worth. |

This thread like the true red style aint worth my time.
|
ohhh I get it. They decided to use a cheaper version of Velocity Red, without the gold dust sparkles, painted it on an RX-8 and tag it as "special edition." Cheaper paint, without changing a thing to the car, and selling it at a higher price for the tag "special edition." This is an insult to their buyers' intelligence. Nice going Mazda--you pricks!
