CAR uk magzine 350z & rx8
 

CAR the magzine from the uk said 350z feels and looks cheap compare to the rx8.they said rx8 feels german like the bmw .
350z bets the rx8 on 0 o 62 and better torque only they said.

What issue is this? I think it's pretty old because I've heard CAR say that before.

By the way, do you guys know if they have a website?

Ok, well if the post gets moved so be it, but I gotta add the following:

This article is March 2003- the latest CAR magazine I have seen, at least here in CanuckWorld.

I found that the article was a touch dissappointing in its treatment of the RX8. I thought this was true of the previous (January) CAR article as well. It is long on opinion, but pretty short on (in fact devoid of) empirical data. I do not have the article in front of me, however, the writer clearly favours the outside styling of the 350Z to the RX8, saying that the 350 looks good and purposeful from any angle, whilst the RX8 looks like a lady trying to fit into a dress that is a couple of sizes too small (or words to that effect).

The writer clearly preferred the 350Z as a sports car, stating that the RX8 was what it was, a sporting saloon thinly disguised as a sports car. The comparison would actually be something like 'the RX8 is to the 330i as the 350Z is to the Boxster'.

He did prefer the interior materials of the RX8 to the 350Z, and did state that both cars were brilliant, just differently brilliant.

Interesting article, but I found it short on any actual data. It was just one guy's opinion, and a rather dissappointing one at that, at least in my opinion.

That's pretty harsh as I think the Mazdaspeed RX-8 is just sick. A very handsome car. I'm not too keen on a the RX-8 in red (as may be the same with the reviewer), but the production car in that grey color (Titanium?) with a tint job is going to be very attractive.

That article was bad... 0-60 6.5secs (0.6 off) vs. in the acceptable range for the 350 (5.5). Grip wise, frankly I can't see how the RX-8 could be bested by the 350. It has handed the FD it's ass! (this is a car that's was quoted in the 0.98G range stock!) Most reviews that I've read have critisized the severity of the 350's understeer. If the RX-8 understeers like this guy says, there's some major problems.
