^^

Come on now! The Amuse S2000 is the Touge monster. It has single-handdely beat every single car in its class for over a year now.

Can people NOT read what I type? Do certain words in my post get blocked or something? Has anyone actually seen the video that was posted and listened to the commentary afterwards?

In the caption, 220 hp was listed when the RX-8 was introduced. They were speaking in general terms when Tsuchiya said 200 hp. Meaning that the car is closer to the 200 hp bracket, not the 300 hp bracket for this Touge showdown. 300 hp was suppose to be the limit for the class, but many of the other entries cheated and had over 300 hp.

Being the lowest powered entry by far and winning the trophy really says much about the FEED RX-8's handling. They also acknowledged that the RX-8 handles better than the 3rd gen RX-7. Something that diehard FD fans will never admit. ;)

Oh man, have you guys watched the one when the Amuse S2k was crowned the Touge Monster, the view from it was freaking fast. Does anyone here know any resources or general guidelines on how to tune suspension to be that stable on such bad road undulation. How long can a car's chassis survive running on these roads? Sorry I'd to hijack

Feed recently turbo'ed their car...i have no dyno figures yet but the setup looks very clean.

Well, that is like everyhting else an opinion.

My theory is that the RX-8 has a lower limit of handling for its power.

ie: the RX-7 chassis can cope with 400+ hp whereas the 8 might not.

This is both a good news and a bad news

Good News: Another product for us owners

Bad News: N/A Tuning is not yielding much progress for RX-8. FEED was really keen on continuing tuning the 8 in N/A form.

Please explain why a more rigid chassis cannot handle more power than a less rigid chassis.

the amuse s2k is a hardcore modded monster and the feed rx8 is a mildly modded machine. that touge race was no contest. also the feed rx8 didnt have the full exhaust yet, so it was probably under 200hp

Actually the FEED 8 was modded quite substantially, intake, exhaust, header, tuning, almost all N/A bolt-on mods are done and yield 220 hp. Weight is definitely the issue, 150+ kilos is quite a difference but that's just my opinion.
