Yellow engine cell and power loss

Hi,
When I drive around 200km/hr in ambient temp of 35degC my RX8 looses its power and go down to 185km/h. Is there anyone who already experienced that?
Tq in advance.

Overheating?

JPR 06-21-2009 08:32 AM

Hi,
Year 04, mileage 49,000km, tiptronic, no mods, new metering pump.
No overheating, oil pressure and temperature were ok, just got the yellow CEL and a loss power.

OH CEL i was confused on the "cell" does the light blink? If so it's a misfire....prob time to change plugs/coils soon.....

It would help a lot if you read the code.

I'd assume the Governor is kicking in..just because of the insanely high speed. Without more info, we're kind of stuck with just speculations.

What country are you in? It sure is hot.

Maybe you need a new engine. The 04-05 automatics are prone to needing new engines and especially in hot climates.

Malaysia. The car was in a cold climat before, I' ve been driving it in hot climat for only two years. Mazda will check the code. Tq
