WTF shady B.S.

2005 45,000 miles

Bought my car about a year and a half ago. Got the 2 year warranty with it because I was quoted as it covers "everything" none cosmetic. I have the paper work that I apparently need to read through and through when I get home for fine ass print somewhere. Only reason I even did it is because I work two jobs and don't have the time to spend working on it.
CEL popped up, I ran the code, exhaust pump solenoid. Cleared the code, it comes back up a week later. Fine whatever warranty says it covers all electrical systems and solenoids. Take it in and leave it with the dealer. They call me yesterday saying they cleared the code and it didn't come back on so its good.....I'm like yeah no, tried that already...."oh ok we will replace that part then let me call the warranty company." They call me back today saying the warranty company will not replace the item because its an emissions part.....check this quote
$550 labor "because the intake manifold has to come off"
$135 diagnostic
$135 part

I don't even know what the fuck to do right now. Warranty should have covered this bullshit. I told him to fucking put it back together and order the part. I'm fucking certified, I just do no at all have the time. I'm at work right now typing this. I was expecting at most to be out $100 for the warranty deductable, but now I'm stuck with a minimum of $270 if they don't slide some more b.s. in there for closing my hood or something.

Which dealer are you using?

Roseville automall.

Hrm. Federal warranty on that is 2yrs 24,000 miles, so no luck there.

Yeah, find that fine print.

I have to go back and look, I know california has some extended emissions required warranty type gig. I don't remember what the length is though. I still haven't been home lol blah work work work.
Imma end up selling the car anyways. It just rots in the garage all I ride are motorcycles. $11,000 who wants it lol?
It is just messed up that I have to pay an additional $135 for them to tell me what I already knew, but yet I wouldn't know if its covered under the warranty till I take it in, just to find out its not and now I'm stuck with that bill. Frustrating as hell. I surely will raise a bit of a riot to get them to lower some costs. (doubt the part costs anywhere near that and it did not take 2 hours to plug in the OBDII reader and clear the code)

most of those extended warranties are B.S.
Sorry but the fine print usually comes back to bite most people in the ass.

Not sure what they would have to take the manifold off for???

What is the code they got?

there is a solenoid under the UIM that goes to the actuator for the air pump.
