wow... ok so i went to racingbeat today to purchase new endlinks because mine broke due to my stupid error of installing them backwards. but neways on with story...

so they send me back to their manufacturing warehouse area and i meet this guy who apparently was in charge at the time, and checked out my car and saw the endlinks and then gave me a little tour.

He showed me the new intake and showed it to me on their RX8. The new intake will be a ram air, but have another add on under it to get cold air. It looked smart and was ingenious in my opinion! They said they were just waiting for the manufacturing of the box and then would soon be released.

I asked him about the koni shocks and he said that they were still testing them, and that koni was lagging and that they already sent over 2 shocks to test but still didnt have a final product. He said they would soon be done.

He also told me which i was very suprised with, is that they are coming out with a NEW FRONT NOSE which will look more aggressive, similar to the Mazdaspeed kit. He said the rest would be the same, the sideskirts, and the wing.

Now what u guys were all waiting for.... FORCE INDUCTION! when i went there... he had two renesis engines but i saw only one with a supercharger attached and another supercharger right next to it... i was almost creaming in my pants. He told me they were doing research on the supercharger and which one they like better and had another renesis engine which was gonna have a turbo attached. They were going to see whether or not the turbo or the supercharger were better for the rensis engine.

well thats all he told me and showed me. i didnt have my camera on me (bangs head) but at least i got a lot of information that i've been waiting for. i can't wait for the koni shocks and how the new bumper will look like. I feel really bad, and feel like i shouldn't tell everyone this, but i told the guy what i read on the forums and stuff so i think he would expect me to relay this information... well enjoy

A friend of mine was sued by Honda motor corp because he gave accounts of the new Honda Accord (the current re-design was a couple months from release, although had been photographed and reviewed by car mags prior to his tour of the shop)...The only way Honda would settle was if his employer (he was 'on the clock' for the tour - as part of a group of contractors) fired him.


That's to say, be sure you aren't releasing any trade ideas/secrets.

Thanks for the info. Did he happen to mention a time frame for the release of the FI and body kit?

unlees some non disclosure agreement was worked out in advance(written or verbal i.e. "let me show you something but you have to keep your mouth shut") then any information given by an employee of a company to a customer can be considered for public discussion. especially when the customer says "i talk to a lot of people about products for this purpose" it should be understood by the company that the information will be diseminated. that being said when ever i email someone for information about an RX-8 product i always sign it with my name and then "zoom44 , www.rx8club.com" so they understand i will be telling others. i dont think you need to worry about giving away any secrets from RB. aside from the new nose you didnt reveal anything new that the people who were there in sept didnt see or hear , or that has been learned since. Besides Racing Beat is a forum sponsor and if they dont want this out they'll just have someone make your thread "disappear"

no time frame yet but RB did mention the other day that they are very happy with the results they are seeing reprogramming the stock pcm for FI purposes.

I saw that thread. Im not into tuning a Canzoomer/Emanage so was hoping RB was going to put out a different kind of ECU tune. I was bummed when I read the ECU progress is slow, due to only being worked as time allows; until that thread.

A RB SC with an ECU mod/flash...I'd sell a kidney for that.

I'm just wondering because i just installed mine and i want to make sure i did the right things...

uhmm i cant really explain it and i cant show u pics cuz im at school and not at home, but the endlink's back should point to the back of the car... mine was installed towards the front of the car... so yah... like this is the endlink ---> [ the back side to which i am pointin at should be pointed towards the back of the car...

sorry thats the best i can explian it haha sry i cant do it

Did you installed the sway bars (front/rear) and spring from RB also?
If yes, any comments... I have to wait until spring to test mine since my
8 is stored for winter here in Canada... :-(

Very interesting developments... I wonder if Mazda/Ford is pushing for RB to become like Saleen and Rousch, offering fully setup cars for sale at certain dealers with full factory and RB warranty. if the price is right... zoom zoom! :D
