Worried For My 04

Hey. My dad recently just bought me a 2004 GT with 60,000 miles on it. According to the history and carfax reports, there has been no recall service done on it, not to anyone's knowledge at least. I've read about these recalls having been mandatory? Is that true? If so, wouldn't that mean that the owner of this used car should have brought it in? I don't want to be the third owner of this car and discover its dormant "problems" that are infamous on these forums. Most of all, I'm worried about the starting and flooding issue. God damn there's a lot of **** on this. But what is this flashing thing I heard of? Is it like, flashing a cell phone, or computer? Changing it's programming? Or am I way off?

2) Take it to a Mazda Dealership
3) Ask them to do ALL the recall work on it
a) Now, I'm not 100% sure on this and if I'm wrong I'm sure someone will correct me but even without a warranty the dealership should still perform the recalls--the best way to find out is to call the dealership and tell them you need the stuff done.
b) The dealship should know what all needs to be done to your car.
4) If it is under a warranty, I'd have them check everything and fix what needs to be...

Hope this helps.

No, this is a different car that my dad got. I decided to forget about the other thread I made about flooding. That thread became useless after a page because of all the off topic arguing that went on. Anyway, the car is a 6speed, and I'm in California.

Not much to worry about.

You can bring it in for Recall, because it's law that auto companies HAVE to cover every single REcall issues free of charge. so you can bring it in and ask them to do it. (well just to be safe u better tell them that this better be free)

After that, you should at LEAST have the newest flash, oh yes its like flashing cell phones or updating BIOS in a computer. Same idea. It just takes longer.

Open your hood, take all the covers away(like engine cover, Battery Cover, etc) take some pictures at diff angle, and we can tell you what part u have (or dont)
