Think about headroom if you are getting the sunroof especially if you are planning to track. I have the GT but would probably take the basic one with no roof.

 

I have a Shinka, and have absolutely no regrets about the package options, (although I could have gone with a Sport just as easily) the sunroof is there for the entertainment of your passengers, basically, because if youre in anything that remotely resembles a performance oriented driving position, (as opossed to the ghetto tilt/ricer lay) the sunroof is actually behind your periferal vision


I've got to say that is the only gripe I have about this car though

 

I wanted a T or GT model but walked into a great deal on my sporty with all the bells and whistles for that model. full Aero package, tailspoiler in Velocity Red which I didn't care for.
Now love the Red, when the sun reflects off of it and the Gold comes out, it is Fine!!
Check out all the diff trim ver's if you can and go from there.

Thanks for all the help, its just hard where I live we dont even have a stand alone Mazda dealer. Its combined with Lincon, so its hard to see the other trims in person. But this has helped me.

 

My vote is for GT ,,,but then again, get what makes you happy. I got my 2006 GT loaded and dont regret it one bit.. Plus on the 06's BIG rebates and discounts. I saved $6000.00 off MSRP. Leather, never had it in any car/truck I owned, but love the 2 tone black/chaperel I got in my 06. Bose Stereo -- one word AWESOME!!!!! sunroof can take it or leave it, but my kids and wife love it.

 

I just got the basic Rx8.
I've had leather before and dont like it. It's not so great sitting down on it when its 90+ deg outside. My g/f wears short shirts and she would always get burnt. Most people put covers over them anyways... The dealer gave me a free 3year replacement on the cloth seats if they rip or if I rip them for the hell of it.

Springs and shocks dont matter to be cause they will be changed.

The stock system sounds perfect to me, but if I needed I have a few amps and some other parts laying around to make it better.

I didnt want a spoiler or sunroof. I almost never used the sunroof on my last car and if I really wanted a spoiler I would get the MS.

Didnt care to much for the apperance package stuff.

All and all I just saved alot of money I'll put towards making the car the way I like it.
