Renesis07 01-08-2009 02:55 PM

take the door panel off?

mikeb 01-08-2009 02:57 PM

yes i took the door panel off already
mazda doesnt have the part in stock so im stuck with a window down

im not sure how to pull it up manually

04RX8man 01-08-2009 03:21 PM

it should have an electric motor with a coil spring asist and you should b able to push fro the bottom to get it up

expo1 01-08-2009 03:26 PM

Since you have the panel off are you able to tell it the motor works, issue with the switch or is the window off the track?

mikeb 01-08-2009 03:26 PM

hmmm
i can touch the top of the window but i cant get to the bottom

mikeb 01-08-2009 03:28 PM

since the master switch has been replaced twice already i assume its the switch again

Then you should be able to short the switch in order to get the window back up till you can get an new switch.

mikeb 01-08-2009 03:36 PM

^^ ill have to try that
just kinda pissed it goes out every year or so and mazda doesnt even have 1 in stock

expo1 01-08-2009 03:39 PM

Any idea why your switches are failing?

Are they getting moisture, or are they melting from over-voltage?

I haven't heard of the bypass switch failing before. Have you tried to take the switch(es) out and clean with some contact cleaner?

bose 01-08-2009 03:44 PM

If the same part keeps failing something else may be going on. There is only so much that can fail on a switch.

mikeb 01-08-2009 04:43 PM

how would i short the switch ???

zoom44 01-08-2009 04:49 PM

you must be getting water in there somewhere

try these mike

I do not know how that back of the window switch looks but it can't be too far off from a standard light switch. Find the two contacts on the switch and connect them with a small section of wire or a screw. You would be replicating the same thing depressing the switch would do, completing the circuit.

zoom44 01-08-2009 04:54 PM

^^ paperclip

04RX8man 01-08-2009 07:05 PM

^yeah u are jumping the switch from power before the switch to power after the switch! a paperclip will work but may get warm ahah a short piece of wire is ideal!

mikeb 01-10-2009 02:34 AM

got the master switch for 150.00 and installed it in like 5 minutes

window is up now

i think it keeps getting shorted from water hitting it when i wash my car

DOMINION 01-10-2009 04:50 AM

 @ Zoom44 post oh man.

My passanger side windo just went down one day and never came back up. I could hear the motor but the window would just rock up and down. As if it wanted to go up but something was stopping it. It was going out. I guess over time and all he sand out here in Vegas got all over the grees that was on the rail preventing it from rolling up and down smoth.
So one hot summer day i rolled the windows down and heard my passanger window fall. Took the door panel off and went to the dealer with everything wraped up in my trunk. They replaced it under warrenty and told me this is the 3rd on they seen that month.
Turns out it was not the motor but the plastic that holds the window on the rail broke and thats why the window fell out of place.

04RX8man 01-10-2009 08:05 AM

yeah tape that switch and everything up with electrical tape if u think it's water getting in there. is your inside of ur door panel getting wet? Is it wet?

mikeb 01-10-2009 01:36 PM

i have noticed after i wash my car and open my driver door a ton of water comes down thru the bottom--honestly i never really cared

but the switch has gone out three times and obviously that is why

ill try electric tape
thanks guys
