Will this setup look good??
Here are the rims >> Four 00-12 Audi A4 A6 A8 18" TSW Londrina Wheels Rims Gunmetal 18x8 | eBay
I have a stock 2005 Mazda Rx8 in winning blue with a 6 speed manual. I have 225/45/r18 tires all around so I am buying an 18x8 rim. Will the gunmetal look good with the blue? Also the offset is +32mm so that should give me 18mm of push out. Will that look flush? |
You might want to start by finding a set with the correct bolt pattern. I don't think there has ever been an Audi produced with a 5x114.3 (5x4.5) bolt pattern.
From there, to answer your question. No, they will look like garbage. Get proper wheels. |
And what is your definition of proper wheels good sir? Rotas? Enkei's?
|
How about these rims with the blue paint?>>
JDM ROTA GRIP STYLE 18X8 5X100 5X114.3 +38 GUNMETAL | eBay |
I don't think those are real Rotas. The site doesn't say who the manufacturer is. They get away with it by saying "style." The model they are trying to copy is "Grid" not "grip" And They don't come in mufti-fit application as far as I know.
If you are interested in real Rotas check out wheeldude.com... Though it seems you don't really know what you want of even what to look for. Start here. https://www.rx8club.com/wheels-tires...ls-rx8-232206/ |
Rotas are cheap replicas so nope... from enkei and up everything is ok though.

4 New 18X8 5x114.3 KONIG Lace Black Wheels/Rims | eBay Konig is a good brand correct? Konig Milligram custom rims Good looking wheel that is actually good for performance. Also available in matte black and silver. |
I'll go with monchie on this one. They are fairly light and are affordable and I think they will look good. I was going to go darker, but the machined with black rim is going to look dope.
|
alrighty then

Do you know their exact weight, because I bet you don't. Only reason I say that is due to your "fairly light" comment. Nothing heavier than stock should be considered light. I highly recommend getting a set that are lighter than stock.
|
Judging by the fact that you aren't telling me the weight, I would say you don't either. They are 21.6 pounds which is 1.6 pounds heavier than stock. So frankly, if I like the wheels I don't give a shit. I'm not racing it anyway.
|
Pretty sure stock rims are 21 or 22 lbs and the Konig lace shows 23. Not a huge deal, but you could definitetly find lighter. I have Konigs and some people give me crap for getting "Cheap" wheels but I don't have any problems with them. (plus I needed another set of rims for summer as I mounted blizzaks on the stockers.)
23lbs was just what one site said... every place you look seems to be different so who knows. |

Also, one more suggestion.....when asking for advice and opinions on an open forum, you should be more polite. Posted from Rx8club.com App for Android |
Wheels are so subjective. Just get what you like.

I like the oem rims. you should get another set of those. I deff would.

@SaynotoPistons
You say it won't look better than stock? You are sadly mistaken my friend>> Google Image Result for http://img339.imageshack.us/img339/1892/rx81.png |
It's more than ugly!
|
Someone on this forum has, or had Konig Lace wheels.....it was a Red 8. Can't remember where I saw it, but it's on here somewhere.
**Edit** Found them: https://www.rx8club.com/rx-8-parts-s...4/#post3959872 |

@Saynotopistons...
Do you have a winning blue 8? What wheels you running if your such a boss? |
No I don't and I'm running stock wheels. Yes, they are better than the turds you've chosen thus far.
|
If your running stock then as far as I'm concerned, your opinion doesn't matter. Eat my troll ass.
|
Why don't you spend $300 on some lowering springs and an alignment instead of $600 on some aftermarket wheels that are heavier and same size as stock? I know you aren't tracking your car, and you seem to only care about looks. In my opinion, a lowered RX-8 with stock wheels will look ten times better than a stock height RX-8 with aftermarket "look at me" wheels.

ahhh i love car forums.......only place where grown men can argue with children that are not their own.
And to agree with nopistons those wheels are terrible and the picture you posted has not swung any opinion in your favor. Could care less if you go with "cheap" wheels, rotas are fine as well as konig but just get something that is tasteful and that you feel you can grow with and not feel like a fad while you are in high school |

They run no springs at all!!!!!!!!! |
Audis stud pattern (5x112) will work with wobbly nuts, but the centre bore for audis is 66 not 67.1
|
|
I've seen worse.
|
bleh..should have lowered the car before ever getting wheels
|
Tein Springs are in. Going to be lowered 1.4" front/ 0.7" rear. Should make the new rims look even better.
|
Post pics when up.....just be ready for some negative feedback if they are the original wheels.
|
@JCrane82.
I'm the one with the blue 8 with the konig lace wheels. I started this thread and now I have a lowering kit to make the wheels look better. Even though I think they look fine already. I'm always ready for negative feedback lol |
Tein S-tech lowering springs
1.4" F 0.7" R DIY Install. Took me about 10 hours. |
|
Not my cup of yea.....but if you are happy, I am happy for you.
