Will this setup look good??

Here are the rims >> Four 00-12 Audi A4 A6 A8 18" TSW Londrina Wheels Rims Gunmetal 18x8 | eBay

I have a stock 2005 Mazda Rx8 in winning blue with a 6 speed manual.

I have 225/45/r18 tires all around so I am buying an 18x8 rim. Will the gunmetal look good with the blue?

Also the offset is +32mm so that should give me 18mm of push out. Will that look flush?

JantzenRX-8 09-08-2012 11:46 AM

You might want to start by finding a set with the correct bolt pattern. I don't think there has ever been an Audi produced with a 5x114.3 (5x4.5) bolt pattern.

From there, to answer your question. No, they will look like garbage. Get proper wheels.

cox181 09-08-2012 12:01 PM

And what is your definition of proper wheels good sir? Rotas? Enkei's?

cox181 09-08-2012 12:04 PM

How about these rims with the blue paint?>>

JDM ROTA GRIP STYLE 18X8 5X100 5X114.3 +38 GUNMETAL | eBay

godesshunter 09-08-2012 12:45 PM

I don't think those are real Rotas. The site doesn't say who the manufacturer is. They get away with it by saying "style." The model they are trying to copy is "Grid" not "grip" And They don't come in mufti-fit application as far as I know.

If you are interested in real Rotas check out wheeldude.com... Though it seems you don't really know what you want of even what to look for.

Start here. https://www.rx8club.com/wheels-tires...ls-rx8-232206/

Rotas are cheap replicas so nope... from enkei and up everything is ok though.

monchie 09-08-2012 05:43 PM

Chad D. 09-08-2012 05:52 PM

You can get Konigs for cheap at a discount tire near you to save on shipping and stuff.

Konig is a reputable brand, and they make some good wheels. In my opinion, those wheels are hideous and are not performance oriented since they are rather heavy. Check out the Konig Milligrams:

Konig Milligram custom rims

Good looking wheel that is actually good for performance. Also available in matte black and silver.

cox181 09-08-2012 07:38 PM

I'll go with monchie on this one. They are fairly light and are affordable and I think they will look good. I was going to go darker, but the machined with black rim is going to look dope.

RX8Soldier 09-08-2012 08:04 PM

alrighty then

Do you know their exact weight, because I bet you don't. Only reason I say that is due to your "fairly light" comment. Nothing heavier than stock should be considered light. I highly recommend getting a set that are lighter than stock.

cox181 09-08-2012 09:43 PM

Judging by the fact that you aren't telling me the weight, I would say you don't either. They are 21.6 pounds which is 1.6 pounds heavier than stock. So frankly, if I like the wheels I don't give a shit. I'm not racing it anyway.

Kaiser bun 09-09-2012 12:08 AM

Pretty sure stock rims are 21 or 22 lbs and the Konig lace shows 23. Not a huge deal, but you could definitetly find lighter. I have Konigs and some people give me crap for getting "Cheap" wheels but I don't have any problems with them. (plus I needed another set of rims for summer as I mounted blizzaks on the stockers.)

23lbs was just what one site said... every place you look seems to be different so who knows.

Kaiser has the stock weight correct. Which site are you referencing that the 18x8 lace is 21.6?

Also, one more suggestion.....when asking for advice and opinions on an open forum, you should be more polite.

Wheels are so subjective. Just get what you like.

If you want to be so negative about our advice/opinions, then fuck off and choose your own wheels. We could care less if your 8 looks and performs worse than stock.

jamesf 09-09-2012 09:58 AM

I like the oem rims. you should get another set of those. I deff would.

cox181 09-09-2012 02:18 PM

@SaynotoPistons

You say it won't look better than stock? You are sadly mistaken my friend>>

Someone on this forum has, or had Konig Lace wheels.....it was a Red 8. Can't remember where I saw it, but it's on here somewhere.
