when i bought my 8 it didnt come with the remote only the steel key like back in the old days will this remote after programming work for all the buttons on the outside of the car ?

my key is something like this but doesn't have the same shape it is the one it originally came with without the remote i don't even know what the original remote looks like

The dealer can program it. Or there is some instructions floating on this site somewhere to program it yourself.
