Is White rare?
 

I've been running some searches on Mazdas site on RX8 inventory in the San Jose and Los Angeles regions. There are no whites within 50 miles of San Jose. There are only 2 in the LA area. Is white really rare? Is there a reason for this?

umm.. i don't see it as being rare. it's just a very nice color. maybe the inventory is showing that a lot of people are buying whites. lol

well the first time it came out in 05 they made only a limited amount of units of white.

it depends on where you live. its different everywhere.

I've gone through CA and MA, where i used to live. None there either. Tons of Greys left all over though.

Here in the DFW area, there are 13 of them on the lots. Which amounts to 1 in 10, which is actually the second most numerous color behind Galaxy Grey which is almost 1 in 3 of those on the lots itself

Just discovered San Diego is like the land of white 8s. But they're all GT. Too rich for my blood!

I don't know about white but I had a dream I was in a black rx8 last night and raced some guy on a black r1 and kicked his ass. ok, sorry to hijack your thread.

Only one I've ever seen in central PA including Mazda dealers.

the colors i see alot is black,red,silver,titanium,blue, i dont see any yellows or white. since i bought my white one i only seen one white 8 and it was parked at a church.

I don't know about rare, but they do charge you $200 extra for that color so...

I went to a dealer today and drooled over thier WWP Mazdaspeed6 as i envisioned it on the 8. It pains me that i can't find an 8 in white! If anyone can help me i'm looking for a white manual with appearance package in base or sport trim. Needs CA emissions. Do any of the neighboring states carry the emissions stuff too? I'm in the bay area.

The colors I see the most in order of most to least are as follows: Silver(see her everyday:)), Brilliant Black, Velocity Red, White, Phantom Blue, Copper Red, Titanium Grey, Black Cherry, Yellow, and Winning Blue. Funny the only time I have ever seen a blue was about 4 months before I got my 8.

non of the rx8s are rare.

If your that well desperate tell your dealer "Find this for me!" My friend did this awhile ago while he was unable to find his own car via normal methods. 2 weeks later he gets a call from his salesman saying they found his car and wants to come check it out. They found the car in another state aparently and the dealer worked a deal with the other dealer (could be a b.s. story since the salesman told it to us but 'eh). That and some dealers goto Auctions all the time and look for specific cars for people so they can get a solid quick sale. I have but never got a call back sadly aparently a Black on Black 99' Audi A4 Auto is rare around my area lol.

Get the Grey one you can be part of the Silver curse! :mdrmed:

hmm Well if it make you feal any better mine is a white GT with the appearance package. I'm just joking. I believe if your going to buy a car brand spankin new the dealership could get you white if you requested. I'm sure some where they have a lot full of car that you don't know about. Trust me if you want white you'll get it just fined a good dealership and they'll get it no problem.

I live in Long Beach (south of L.A) and there are two including mine.

I have seen only one white in this area - it seems to have some sort of pearl embeded and has a irridesent shimmer - lovely thing! I commend who ever owns it!
When I got my blue, I was told at first, that none could be found in this part of California, and I was getting ready to fly to Maryland, where I knew that Cook Motors had one - they were even willing to help pay for the gas so I could drive it back to California! But, we had a hard working salesman at Valley Mazda and he found one in L.A. and they traded some other Mazdas to L.A. for it - keep looking and you might even call some other dealers in your state. It will be worth it to have the satisfaction of having what you really want!

i live in los angeles ktown area and i didnt c any other white rx8 besides mine, i actually didn't see any rx8's besides a titanium grey one.

Actually I've found two right now in the middle of nowhere CA. One base and one touring. Neither have appearance package, which i think really makes the white 8. If i get appearance dealer installed will that cost more than sticker ($1100)? I'd also be really worried about the paint matching. I'm not sure if i should go with one of those or hold out for a factory appearance pack car.

Come on guys we all know rx-8's are rare. Just think of all the owners that have got props/comments about there 8's; Hey man is that the new Viper? ect.

I had a Snowflake White Pearl. But the wife liked Titanium better.
Hey, there are two at my local dealer in Phoenix/Mesa ,, and I have seen others on other dealers lots.
Not to mention a slightly used White '05 on one dealers lot.
I don't understand why you can not find one,,or your dealer is not looking very hard.

P.S. search the web up to 500 miles and when you find one tell your local dealer "that's the one I want." If it's a good dealer they'll get the car for you.
