where is the dipstick located i cant find it

any one got any pics??? and how low before i put some castrol gtx 5-30 in it??

Jedi54 09-08-2008 05:57 PM

are you serious? do you have your owner's manual?

Marklar 09-08-2008 05:58 PM

Pull off the engine cover, the dipstick is yellow and hidden way in the back towards the driver's side. Put oil in when it's low, the owner's manual recommends checking every other fill-up. Do you have an owner's manual?

Jedi54 09-08-2008 06:26 PM

2005 owners manual shows the location of the dipstick on page 8-11
I suggest you read your manual again

^^^

For posterity.

Both of your questions are in the owner's manual. You're either looking too hard or not hard enough. If you don't have the owners manual, I'd be happy to pm you a pdf file of the Quick Reference Guide which answers both of your questions on page 12 as well as containing much other useful info.

Cheers!

04RX8man 09-08-2008 06:41 PM

wow well i think he got it 5w30 GTX is a very good choice (however i think i may switch to 10w30 but that's beside the point) add oil when the oil is about half was down the "guage" on the dipstick that is almost a qt...

Easy_E1 09-08-2008 06:45 PM

Did some one leave the gate open?

DaRotary 09-08-2008 06:53 PM

thanks alot guys you guys r like my lil family :D

CyberPitz 09-08-2008 06:54 PM

What are you doing, don't pull that yellow handle!!! That will cause the vacuum sealed engine to..well, lose it's vacuum seal! The engine will require a FULL rebuild if you pull it.

You pulled it already, didn't you?

Totally not true. It won't require a rebuild, you just have to plug up the exhaust pipes with bananas and crank it for a few minutes. That will restore the vacuum.

Jedi54 09-08-2008 07:02 PM

^^ is that before or after you reset the flux capacitor???

You're suppose to use bananas?! :Eyecrazy:
I used oranges! :uhh:
Is my engine okay?

Marklar 09-08-2008 07:06 PM

Only ricers use flux capacitors. Real drivers use oscillation overthrusters. In any case, do not engage either until vacuum is restored. See the link below for helpful step-by-step instructions:

spoddyandthemazda 09-08-2008 07:07 PM

hey you gotta yellow oil cap.
mine is black, didn't know they done yellow uns.

someone gonna tell him how much fun it is getting to it and oh better mention the mayo stuff and the reason behind it, cause i bet thats gonna be the next thread....

and don't forget to ensure the inertial dampeners are online when you jump to warp.... thats the 9000rpm line btw you and me ;)

speaking of dipsticks, i wonder how the new flap for the engine cover on the new r3 is working out, ie has it broken off already, maybe too soon to tell as very few new r3 owners on here. does it actually make life easier???

Uh oh, no your in trouble. The citric acid will eat through your apex seals and cause a nuclear meltdown. You better get outta there.

He may be ok depending on what kind of orange it was, and how ripe.

Parmer8 09-09-2008 12:34 AM

Da dipstick is located behind the keyboard.

True, but from personal experience, I've seen to many melt downs...I'd rather be safe then sorry!

This poor guy.

He is bound to have major troubles in life. And here we are picking on him for asking a simple question. Let's go easy on him, because if finding a dipstick raises issues in his life, what is gonna happen when something important needs to be resolved?
