Does anyone know where I can still buy a brand new copper red 8 in California?

The copper reds are only availabe in the 06 Shinka, so I guess you would have to go to mazdausa.com and go to the check inventory link. You can put in RX8, 2006, and copper red.

Do they not list used ones on this site? I know my dealer has some used ones that arent listed on there.

 

the OP wants a brand new one. a very specific car with limited production so it will not be an easy search. it will likely have to be shipped from quite a distance and forget about trying to get a good deal since the dealer knows they are looking for such a specific car.

 

I checked the mazda website. It only allows me to search by the dealer inventory. So I have to check each dealer's inventory which is a freaking pain in the butt. Where in NV did you see one? Thanks

 

No it wasn't. The '05 Shinka was black-cherry.

There is one in Savannah, GA. I drove it Monday. If memory serves me they had ~28K on the windshield.

Melon - If you are really interested in buying one, see your local dealer. They can do a search on there system easier than you can on mazdausa.com. Then, they can call the dealer that has one and possibly work out a trade or purchase from that dealer. There will be shipping involved as well as the proper procedure if you bring a fed spec car into CA. Our dealer does it all the time, however rarely out of the state. But it is possible. If you are in Orange County, come see me and I'll introduce you to the dealer. He is a great guy and a good friend, and if it is possible he'll make it happen for you.

If you want one bad enough, simply go to a couple of nearby dealer's websites and put in what you want. It will be hard to get a realy good deal if they find one. But let the salesmen do all the homework. I say put in at a couple so you can compare price. I am a car salesman. I do that for people all the time.

When the salesman calls you he WILL try to talk you into one on the lot. I know I would. Just let him know up frount what you want. If he is like me, he will offer you a very good deal on one in stock to save the headache of bring one in from BFE. That way if he cannot find one at all, you still have an offer on the table for a good deal on an instock. That is another reason you get with more than one dealer. One salesman may lie to you and say none are available at all because he does not want to go through the hastle of getting such a hard to find car.

Good Luck hun, as the other guys have said they are RARE. Of Approx. 1500 '06 SHINKA's available in four colors, AND If they divided the colors equally among them there were only 375 Copper Reds built.

Get on that one in Savannah if you want it bad enough.
