Whats up everyone? New owner

Whats up everyone? I hope everyones good out there. The names self explanitory. I've got a loaded 8 with navi and about 80 000 miles. Yea I know Ive got to check the compression and keep an eye out for the oil and with the miles I have I should change the apex seals(esmeril when they come out. Anyone know when they do). I think I have the warrenty still just incase anything happens. I don't think my dad would buy the car without one. My plans are to go with a custom top mount gt42r, upgraded oil pan with a custom baffle(if I plan on drifting, but I might not because of the risk of insufficient oil while Im sliding even with a baffle. If Im an idiot for thinking I won't have oil even with a baffle please let me know.), 9 pound flywheel, pulleys from sr motorsports, etc you name it I probubly will try and get it. I know this is going to hit the bank majorly, but theres nothing like my favorite troublesum rotary engine. So thats what led me to get the closest thing to my favorite car, the fd. I can already say Im in love like Id thought I'd be. The only upgrade my car has right now is two 10 inch kickers and cross drilled, slotted rotors, and some cosmetic stuff like rx8 center wheel caps and chromed stock rims. One thing Id like to mention is for you guys to try out zmax. Its good for keeping the friction down in the engine and a few horsepower. If anyone knows any additional products for that, please let me know. The less friction the maryer. I also would like to start some kind of rotary club in the Miami/Broward area, so if anyones interested please let me know. Hopefully Ill see some of you guys at the koni challenge. Here are a few crappy pics. I'll try and get some better ones today. Nice to meet everyone here, I hope to see some of you soon.( btw I just saw another red 8 on sheridan and dykes[my house] going west toward charter/ broward college. If you're on here let me know, nice color btw ). Take care everyone. :bluesuit:

iMike, welcome to the cult!!! errrr....."club".
I saw you mention the apex seals from Esmiril, you probably dont' need those till you blow up an engine, no sense in taking it apart just to upgrade the seals, the stock seals hold together pretty well.

Top mount turbo? Damn, going all out on this thing. Check out the Overlord Boosted thread and do a few searches around for turbo kits, lots of great reading ahead of you.
Coils, coils, coils! Unfortunately a weak point in the 8 so make sure you upgrade those when you start modding the car. (BHR coils are a great upgrade)

Welcome to the club Mike... great lookin 8 for 80K miles ;)

iMike 02-12-2009 01:30 PM

Appreciate it jedi and ross. Yea Ive done some searches on the turbo kit before I decided to go with a top mount, but for the money I could just build my own kit with way more potential. Thanks for the heads up on the coil thing, that'll be the first upgrade. Which upgrade is better though bhr or esmeril? Do they add any horsepower?(noob question, but Im assuming it just helps out throttle respone.)
