Whats This Switch For?

Hi,
My first post and I just bought a 04 RX8 (touring)? Bose, side curtains, paddle shift ect... I really dont know much about my new 8 but I have this on\off switch that is located down by my dash dimmer roller switch. It is to the left of the roller switch and I have no idea what it is for, it is not in the manual, can anyone help?

Bill

DSC- Dynamic Stability Control. Keeps your car on the road. I recommend leaving it alone.

zaglo6204 04-04-2006 09:27 PM

it's for the ejector seat!!

Rootski 04-04-2006 09:30 PM

Actually, on the Shinkas, that button will blow the suicide doors open for air-braking.

sstricker 04-04-2006 09:34 PM

^^^ Lol!!!!

PWRCLOSER 04-04-2006 09:34 PM

Its not a button, its a switch (on \off) located at the far left side if the panel. I am aware of the DCS button that is also located within the 4 finger panel. It looks factory but Im not sure what its for. I do know its Not the DCS BUTTON That button is cool and I still need experienced 8 owners to tell me about that, but I dont know what that FACTORY LOOKING SWITCH ON THE FAR LEFT IS FOR. THANKS, BILL

now i'm confused

mmats69 04-04-2006 09:37 PM

flip it and see what happens. a pic of the switch would help as well

tiggerlee 04-04-2006 09:38 PM

If you've got a button on the far left of the 4 section panel then it's not stock, not to my knowledge anyway.

Rootski 04-04-2006 09:40 PM

Super-secret triple-turbo mode? I dunno, seems you might have an extra.

sstricker 04-04-2006 09:41 PM

no no no.... i know what it is..... it's to turn on the flux capacitor..... duh!

NgoRX8 04-04-2006 09:42 PM

take a pic.

Labop 04-04-2006 10:41 PM

Like a toggel switch? I know one eight owner who had the red floor lights installed and they used a toggel switch, like you get from radio shack.

Like they said, take a pic. :)

flip the switch and drive to 88mph and watch out. I recommend France in the 1420's

swoope 04-05-2006 01:24 AM

if it is down low it opens the trunk. read the manual the take a pic. then ask for help. i think you are way lost.

It's an automatic head swisher that projects on the winshield alla Kids in the Hall

Renesis_8 04-05-2006 01:38 AM

Its the rev limiter disable button, hit that button, restart your car, then you can rev to 13000 rpm where the renesis makes the most power : 300hp@13000rpm

Switch

Push it in all the way and hold it ....till you see little skid tracks in your tach cluster....then it is completely off...........Agreed best button in the car....when it's held in and switched off all the way.....

Silly! Sure he could use that to get to the 1420's, but he'd still be in the same place; he'd have to somehow drive all the way to France!

More seriously (somewhat): what on Earth was going on in France in the 1420's that you picked that time/place?

1420

Treaty of Troyes. With the Burgundian faction dominant in France, King Charles VI of France acknowledges Henry V of England as his heir and as virtual ruler of most of France.
