Whats This?

Does everyone have this sticker for "rework" in the port?

Gyro 07-23-2003 02:12 PM

Its found here. FYI the date reads 7/3/3. My build date was 5-27-03.

Gyro 07-23-2003 02:14 PM

I had no port options installed.

I asked about a week ago, the best info I got was that it was probably a sticker they used in the port (ie Hueneme in my case) to assert that the inspection had been done on that vehicle. I believe it was FUBAR who said that it was most likely not related to anything bad or hidden.

The rumour in the Canada forum is that there was a port delay up here because the dipsticks were not marked correctly for full and add marks - new dipsticks were installed in port, but they had to wait to get them! That could easily fall under a rework order like that - I'll try to see if my Canadian car has a similar sticker.

Regards,
Gordon

hmmmm........interesting. I actually have two in my car.

Maybe this is one of the reasons for the initial delay. Dunno

Could be port damage. Or a service bulletin already on the vehicle that we do not know of and was corrected prior to delivery. Happens all the time. Usually the dealer can call MazdaUSA and find out if there was any port damage or damage during transportation. Of course whether or not they will divulge this info to us is another question. This is all speculative of course.

When I picked up my car yesterday, I inquired about the sticker that was on mine.

The driver had told them that the reason for the delays of these cars is the modification that they are having to do to the cataletic (sp?) converter and oxygen sensor. Apparently the location of these items is the clearance issue and they are having to do some minor relocations underneath the car in order to get them safely on and off the trucks.

The dealer called it a recall, I think this is the answer to the sticker.
