what would you pay for 04 w 35k miles?

What is a reasonable price to pay for a 2004 rx8 with 35k miles? single owner, car looks to be in great shape. What should i look for when I go see it in person? any other tips for this eager potential buyer would help. Thanks. After your responses, I'll tell you what the seller is asking. Also, I already checked kbb, but I want rx8 owner's opinions. Thanks.

Well I paid 13950 for an 04 with 19450 miles on it. And that was from a dealership. Stock base with rear spoiler, Bose cd and nav. Had all maintenance records and included compression test. Hope that helps.

I'd say 12-12500 if it's cherry.

Oh, Philly area since pricing seems to be really regional.

more info is needed.

any mods on the car
service history
accident report
etc
etc

Paid $11,500 for my 05 GT 6 speed manual with 36k miles. No bose, or leather but had nav and the aero body kit.
Im in Utah btw.

Ok it is a touring model. I have only seen pics of it but am setting up a meeting w seller. He says it has no accidents and all oil changes done by the dealer. i.ll ask about any other services performed. No spoiler. No mods. Blk leather no navigation. Anything i should ask the seller? Thanks for the replies.

as for receipts of the service history. You'll need those for warranty.

Ask to have a compression test. They usually go for ~$150-200. Split the cost with the seller, if you purchase

atwood_101 10-24-2011 10:16 PM

Ask him how he drives it. If he redlines atleast once a day, if he premixes, if he waits until the car is fully warmed up before given WOT, if its ever been flooded.
Oh and find out when the plugs, wires and coils were last replaced and find out if he has recalls done like upgraded starter, and clutch pedal bracket.
Please read this Link before asking more questions.

Lower than the Kelly Blue Book says. The seller is selling it private to get the most of it. Negotiate to the lowest you can and ask for everything what others already said, good luck.

Find out when it was first sold as that is when the warranty starts. It has an eight year 100K mile warranty on the engine block. It could be over...or have time left.

I live in NC and purchased my '04 with 33K miles on it for $12.9K about three months ago. It was also a single owner, had maintenance records, and was completely flawless cosmetically.

Depending on location and condition, between $10,00 and $15,000. I'd insist on a compression check and a print out that all updates were done.

mykflo 10-25-2011 04:21 PM

Thanks guys. I'm waiting to see the car. He's military and it will be a few weeks. Crossing my fingers that this all pans out. I'll keep you posted.

Supernaut6 10-25-2011 04:55 PM

Why don't you check the FS section to gauge the market.

dynamho 10-26-2011 11:03 AM

If compression test checks out, drives well, and is clean in and out, then I'd pay up to $12.5k.

Compression test is a must.
