What are some Small Rx8 mods?
 

Im currently in Hong Kong, and was told that mods are quite a bit cheaper than NA ( especially comparing to Canada pricing). So Im thinking about buying some stuff and carrying them back with me. I havent visit any auto part shop yet so I dont know whats available, but Im thinking about buying some clear corners and eyelids..

anything else small enuf that I can stuff into my suitcase?
or anyway with any experience buying parts oversea?

corners, strakes, crests, various caps/covers (oil,gas,valve); frankly there's a whole bunch of stuff. in fact, it'd probably be easier to walk in the store and ask an associate there. they're likely to know just as many parts, and be much less hostile about such questions as the members here.

i need a rear rotary crest, if it's cheap, buy me one too.

RX8 doesnt seem to be too popular over here. apparently a majority of the ppl drives Auto ( due to heavy traffic i guess. and the fact they cost ~> $60,000 CAD after tax) and the RX8 Auto is too grossly underpowered

also all the RX8 sold here seem to come with Mazdaspeed front as standard ( no sideskirt/rear).. or maybe jsut the one vender i talked to...

you can buy the b-pillar applique and some good and very cheap hong kong LED bulbs. lol

Yes, the B Pillar is small and eay to bring 4 sets, then sell the other 3.

You can also make money on strakes.

why would custom try to nail me?? is it illegal to bring in car parts from oversea?

I mean if anything I dont my claiming the parts ( maybe claim a little less :P) and pay a bit of duty fee.

they would nail you for anything. depends on the amount though.

Customs are real sensitive right now - I found I could not carry thumb tacks, or a small tack hammer, which were needed to put up a poster I was carrying for a science conference. Persons with boxed chain saws were not permitted to carry them to New Orleans although they were needed for the volunteers doing the clean up effort. I could not carry tulip bulbs out of Germany,a lthough commerically packaged because they lack a stamp, however exact same bulbs, in same mesh bags, sold at the same place went through because of a number printed on the label - it all depends on who checks baggage and the concerns of the day.

you can carry blades on an airplane, just make sure you put them in the luggage you'll check in to the bottom of the craft, anything long and sharp can be assumed to be a weapon if carried in your carry-on and they'll take it away from you and destroy it.

Fruit cannot be brought into the US unless you have an ag permit to do so, partly because of pests and partly because of danger to indigenous plant species, at least that's their excuse to haggle you about it, just don't bring stuff in and you'll avoid trouble that way. one guy at LAX told me "you can bring anything in as long as you have the right permit"

As for mods you could bring, maybe the short shifter would fit... the rotary air stem caps, rotary nob for the radio and basically anything made from carbon fiber since it doesn't weigh anything at all.
