It's the prototype/early concept.... they improved on the product... :)

2001 Detroit Auto Show RX-8 Concept.....to be precise :) .

I still think the interior from the prototype kicks our interior's ass - especially the reflective/glass console.

Rhawb 05-02-2005 10:54 PM

I like the console and gauge pod of the Evolv's interior, but I think the fuzzy stuff everywhere else makes it look all dirty. Having that all over the car would drive me crazy. The finger lines I'd get in the alcantra part of my IS300's seats was enough to drive me nuts, I couldn't imagine having a whole interior of stuff like that.

Razz1 05-02-2005 11:09 PM

I love the way the A/C knob is at mid point.

Ya. like the A/C system really works in an RX 8.

shakRpahX8 05-02-2005 11:33 PM

yes it does
mine works perfectly fine

BlueFrenzy 05-03-2005 01:56 AM

That early prototype doesn't look right for some reason. Like the missing link between the RX Evolv and the current 8. I like our interior better ... although that glassy center console is kinda nice.

That one pic of the yellow 8 without side corners looks odd!

The 2001 Detroit car was the missing link. The RX-Evolve was an earlier creation.

clmantis21 05-03-2005 03:33 AM

joseight 05-03-2005 05:52 AM

i wish they would have kept those brakes.

Wurmfist 05-03-2005 07:10 AM

You can drive the prototype version in Grand Tourismo 3. Pretty neat.

shift paddles for "manually shifting" the auto tranny

zoom44 05-03-2005 11:00 AM

the Evolve also had the hood that opened forward hinged at teh nose , with the clamshell small black piece under it that opened normally. i liked that better:)

Tirminyl 05-03-2005 11:31 AM

I like how the tach goes to 12k

joseight 05-03-2005 11:34 AM

yeah, i saw that. imagine if they left it at 12K for production

I think that's what I meant. :)

Ohhh ... 12K, I didn't notice that!

LiL BenNy 05-03-2005 08:50 PM

i love those thinner seats...

-=Zepplock=- 05-04-2005 06:32 PM

thank you.
never see that photos before.

TexasKyle 05-06-2005 06:45 AM

wish they had left the rear bumber cover the same. The only thing I DONT like about my car is the black plastic lower half of it.
