What kind of exhaust system?

Ok so i am buying an 04 rx-8 with a greddy t618z turbo kit on it but it still has the original exhaust system on it, what kind should i really look into getting?

mysql101 09-26-2007 12:17 PM

greddy evoTT

tajabaho1 09-26-2007 12:31 PM

the real question is how many threads like this could this forum endure?

So you think the greddy EvoTT is def worth the money for upgrading my rx8, it is 1150 but it also sounds better than most others out there, i think it would be a nice combo tho with the turbo kit too

racing beat rev8 with the rx8store midpipe..

The answer is purely subjective. Your just going to have to find sound clips & choose which one you like. I personally like the way my AP exhaust sounds, but its not for everyone.

I'm perfectly happy with my greddy sp2. I don't think you can really go wrong with any of these exhausts ... greddy, borla, racing beat ... unless one doesn't work with your setup. Have you seen/heard the various exhausts on u-tube? Not the best way to judge (if looks or sound) is your main concern but helpful.

i have heard those exhaust setups on sites like youtube and streetfire.net and i have a greddy evo2 exhaust system on my eclipse and i like it so may stay with greddy but i just want some feedback by other rx-8 owners first

There are handy stickies at the top of the various sub-forums to help newbies such as yourself. Try this one for exhaust.

BTW, welcome to the forum!

Well, surprisingly this thread is different from most other exhaust threads... I'd recommend the HKS single outlet because the single should flow better with the turbo. dual will get the job done, but the HKS sounds good and should be better in performance.

tubular

Hard to say. no one has posted a video clip, so I have no idea how it sounds. I just wanted the OP to buy one so he can post a video for me :)

in terms of pure sound, I like the borla over the rest. In terms of flow, I'd choose the HKS Hi-Power.

Brettus 09-27-2007 10:30 AM

The Trust Ti system I just fitted sounds saaweeeeeet ! Had to make a few mods to quieten it down and stop the drone though . ( running without a cat )

Razz1 09-27-2007 10:38 AM

Racing Beat is good as it will prevent it from sounding too loud.

Too loud means tickets.

Uncivilizedracer 09-27-2007 10:53 AM

Yeah i went with Turbonetics deep and low - can stand the lawnmover sounding exhaust systems

Razz1 09-27-2007 10:59 AM

Loud is fine, but then it's like driving a Harley and you can not hear a damn thing around you in town.

Hearing can prevent accidents.

8 Maniac 09-28-2007 02:48 AM

question to the OP... are you looking for good sound or performance? that might help narrow it down a bit more.
