What to get next, part II
So unlike a lot of you guys, I only drove the 350Z for the first time last week. Hertz rental, brand new 300hp, but automatic. Picked it up in Ft. Lauderdale on a business trip and drove up to Amelia Island Concours.
Bottom line is I am very impressed. Although it doesn't have the super quick reflexes of the RX-8, the extra power constantly available is exhilarating. Corners flatter and overall better visibility too. Refreshed interior materials no longer a weak point. Plenty of interior storage, although the ridiculous cross-member across the rear cargo by is stupidly designed. Rock solid, fast, great cornering, seems well-built, surprisingly I really liked it a lot. At the end of the day a great value too. Still not enamored with the styling -- whereas with my RX-8 Istill look over my shoulder when I walk away. Given I work for Ferrari Maserati North America where I see Enzos, MC12s, SuperAmericas. F430s GranSports and Quattroportes all day long, that says a lot about RX-8's styling... Another car I'm considering whose styling used to make me cringe -- Z4 and Z4M. Used to have a MZ3 (pre-triplets) which was an all-out kick-ass blast to drive. Now that Z4 is finally growing on me after three years on the market (it only works as 3.0l+ with at least 18s -- anything else looks purely secretarial) and 3.0l has 255hp I'm taking another look... |
So you're wondering what car to get next? Someone please shoot me now.
|
I've had my car since October 2004, lease is up next year... Gotta start planning now!!!
Would seriously consider RX-8 again, but have heard nothing re: any power/performance uprades or anything else. Meanwhile, competitors are moving ahead... |
Please save us the energy of scrolling past these type of threads and read up on the a vs. b in the general automotive section. Please? Thank you. :D:

Wait for info on the '07 rx8.

I'm envious. You have my dream job. Ever get to drive a Ferrari as a demo?

It sounds like you already answered your own question.
If you drove the new 350Z and loved it, get it. I agree that they did a lot in terms of upgrading the interior. |
Go get it already

What part of this has anything to do with RX-8 discussion?
