The first time i flooded my car i had no idea what was goin on. i read the manual but i must have missed the part about warming up the engine. stupid me!!! but the other day i pulled a u-haul out of the drive way and back up traffic , so i hurried and pulled my rx8 into the drive way. the next day it would not start!!! my point is im a dumb fuck for letting it happen twice but please warn new rx8 owners about this stupidness!!!

I just told my dealer my car took longer than I liked to turn over (and it did), and I got the battery, starter, and plugs for free. Honesty goes a long way.

I didn't give any advice, only what events happen to me.

new owners have been warned. search the word flood or check out the sticky in the sub-forum for issues/problems.

that's actually how i got mine as well.

Okay, on the subject of getting stuff replaced (battery, starter, plugs):
I just went to the dealer and they measured the speed of the starter. It was too low so they replaced it as well as the battery at the same time. And i had asked if they could fix the plugs and give me the latest flash at the same time. All was fixed and didnt cost me a penny, just the time to hand in the car for a day.

Also the service dealer was extremely polite, punctual with the delivery time (when they said it would be finished it would be finished). All in all as some other guy also stated: You can get the starter replaced without flooding. Im not saying that all should replace it but sometimes i had to crank the engine for 10-15 seconds before it would start so i figured it was in order for me to get the replace.

And as for swoope's troll hunting: Happy hunting, it is amusing for us others :-)
