passing it along

They're a good idea, but unfortunately would probably look like trash on an 8.

StewC625 07-03-2006 09:58 AM

Looks like something you'd find in the JC Whitney catalog ... icky bad.

I don't know about these, but LEDs are coming to a car near you. The reasons are they draw less power and will most likely last the life of the car. LEDs are all ready used in the tail lights of truck and all the new traffic lights.
My sources are my wife, who is in the decorative lighting industry (fiber optic displays) and a friend who is in the auto parts industry.

SayNoToPistons 07-03-2006 12:20 PM

lasts longer, looks better, drinks less energy, brighter, clearer... and sometimes ricier.

LEDs can look good, but those aftermarket ones look ricey, you'd need an opaque color so that the light was diffused thru it and you couldn't see the individual LEDs

Have a look at the Thread Called RX8 World's Gayest Car!...don't inflame the situation with this rice cake...

p-trix 07-03-2006 03:17 PM

i dont think there ricey... the tailights we have are already somwhat ricey... I want the l.e.d. look on my rx8... I dont think the 8 has l.e.d. in the rear...

Your source is a few years behind the times. They're already in cars near me.
