What do you call a Titanium Gray Touring model?

After 17 years of driving my RX-7 and having digested thousands of posts on this board, I finally convinced myself to take the plunge. I am now the happy, nay estatic, owner of a Titanium Gray beauty.

Thanks to all the folks on this board for their information, insights, opinions and experiences. It's great to have such confidence in one's decision because one has so much information. Driving vicariously through your posts was fun but its no subsitute for the real thing.

Only one question remains. Does the grin ever go away or is it permanent?

New posters take note, he read many threads before asking very basic questions. I can't give you solid answer about the grin, it yet hasn't gone away, 10,000 plus miles and counting...

Titanium grey and still grinning after 2 months/3000 miles. Wind that puppy out, WOT in 3rd and I can HEAR my heart beating. I love it!!

I think that's your "other southeast". Yakima is not in the Pacific at the this point in time. :)

The grin goes away a few minutes after you shut the door to the garage after taking that last peek of the day. However, the grin comes back in full force the next morning upon opening the garage door. I have also found that the grin gets bigger between 6000 - 9000 RPM. :D :D :D

my grin has been gone past couple days...i can't get the car out of my uncleared snow neighborhood ..

Snow? No problem...I went out and got myself a set of Yokohama Geolandar M/T 33X12.50R15R truck tires and slapped those beauties on. Of course I did have to raise the vehicle up about 10 inches, modify the dirve shaft, and the tires/rims do stick out from the wheel wells just a bit (8" on each side - but who is measuring?). Mud flaps? Yes...needed those. But other than that it was easy and the 1-2 inches of snow we get down here in SE Virginia is no problem.

Actually, you have to go West from Seattle to find the Pacific Ocean (or a really, really long way if you go East :) ). I thought that location would be more descriptive to most people that "Maple Valley, WA".

I'm no doctor but from everyone's symptoms, it does sound like this grin phenomenon is a permanent affliction. It may go into remission but sudden relapses are triggered by exposure to the car. I think I have also read that it causes an uncontrollable extension in the right foot. :D

I do need a name for this car. I think if I start using a name containing the phrase "Tit beauty" around my wife I will end up sleeping in the car. Right now its just "The 8" as opposed to my "7". Keep those suggestions coming.

Now that I'm an actual owner I hope to be able to pay back to the forum with some contributions instead of lurking. Glad to be a member of the club finally!

i don't think any of us here have a problem with sleeping in the car:) most of us have thought about it or done it already!congrats!

Congrats! And the grin never goes away completely, it's there every time you go hard into a corner and sail through with no drama, and when you redline it. :D

LOL great post. Also as I was reading it I was visualizing a car like this, and I have always thought that Monster trucks were the stupidest things ever, who the hell wants to climb 4 feet up to get in their vehicle, but I really think an 8 would look good like that. The 8 has the lines to pull it off as far as looks go. Of course it would ruin the low CG and low polar moment of inertia, and kill the great handleing.

I just wish I could drive mine these days, as it's -25C, and snowing.

My 13 year old son is a big fan of Monster Garage on the Discovery Channel. He thinks they should turn an RX-8 into a limo. That would make for an interesting thread....
