Installed coilovers today..

https://www.rx8club.com.au/forum/dow...hp?id=5780&t=1

Got it to sit like this pretty much first go... Stoked!!
will probably wind it a bit lower again when it settles more and then go for a wheel alignment.

did u get the coilovers from ebay? how much lower can you drop ur car?

I got my coilovers from a member here on the forums but there are group buys on the forum and good deals from vendors here.

I could probably go another inch and a half lower but that would destroy my fenders and tires lol.

i kind of screwed up. there is this rattle in the dash that's been driving me nuts for months, and i finally got around to fixing it. its been a little frustrating because it doesn't make the noise near my house, particularly, and its been kind of hard to even figure out where its coming from, besides the dash somewhere.

what i should have done was find a road that makes the noise, and removed one part at a time until it was gone.

what i actually did, was to remove everything; center console, radio, nav, glove box, etc, and while the noise is gone, i think its a ton more work.

so i've been putting 1-2 parts back in and test driving it, i'm on test 6-7, only 2-3 more to go...

the red herring, was that if i tap the dash, it makes a noise that is similar to the noise, but isn't...

180 mile round trip beach adventure!! Did 19mpg at 80mph. Sounds like aircraft at those speeds :)

I didnt get a chance to post yesterday, but I de-flooded my 8. It was a good feeling to have it finally bust off and run like a champ.

I went to the auto store to purchase a new oil filter. I like to buy the BOSCH 3323(SII/2009-2011) oil filter instead of the BOSCH 3300(SI/2003-2008); besides the difference in height, which allows enough area to hold on when removing the filter, the fittings and the inside thread are identical.

At the store shelf when I picked out the box, which is clear, the package contains the familiar black and orange colors of a FRAM filter. Someone had switched the $11 BOSCH and used the FRAM box so he/she only pays $4 for a premium oil filter. Anyway, I instead went to another location near the "Suburbia" (sarcastically) coz' we know the integrity factor in those areas are undoubtedly high.

The S2 filter has a higher pressure bypass valve. I run with one on my relocation kit.

I don't have a problem with the Bosch filters. Its the cardboard fram ones I stay away from.

I buy s2 filters in bulk, only one worth using and compared to other filters they are cheaper!

Yes, you still can. Not sure if you were asking a question and want a response :dunno:

But, I had that code for a year and a half. Finally fixed it in the beginning of this year coz' I had to smog my car, it won't pass with that code up. Check this DIY I did in this link: P2259 - Locating the Air Solenoid.

Anyway, I struck oil and purchased it this morning at a yard sale. Isn't it a bargain or what? And yes, that is not a type-o :wiggle:

Would you believe that it was first listed for $25 last week? I didn't believe it at first until he responded to the email I sent him last week that he will sell it for $10 to get rid of it :boink:
