Took it to Hallett Motor Racing Circuit for a 4 day instructor certification training and driving weekend. Passed the certification tests and practicals and am now certified by the Motorsport Safety Foundation and BMW Car Club of America.

Wow! What a fun track and GRUELINGLY brutal weekend. The car soaked up 4 days of abuse like it was nothing, and even survived being tracked on Oklahoma 87, albeit with very retarded timing.

I didn't have time to take any photos of anything, but I did snap this one to text to the wife and kiddos.

Probably a day late and a dollar short, but I just measured them and they are M8-1.25. The exposed portion of the studs is 15 mm long.

Very cool, congrats! Not surprised to hear it took the 4 days of abuse no problem.

I spent 25 minutes straightening one row of oil cooler fins this morning before leaving for work. Last night I started to pull the exhaust with channel locks and decided to just buy the exhaust hanger tool so I could spend more time on other things. Like using a tweezers to straighten oil cooler fins. Hopefully this will be the only time I have to do this since the RB screens will be going on once I'm done. And some idiot put the ac condenser screen on upside down so I flipped that around as well so it actually protects an exposed area.

Got it ready to go back to the track next weekend, because my Miata's engine is done. Low compression (150psi) in all 4 cylinders due to ring wear, probably from low oil pressure, when the front crank seal gave up on the previous owner. New block needed.

Left the 8 in the garage - borrowed a friend's HyperBlue BRZ to drive. Dropped it back off and drove the 8 with an even bigger smile.

Found that the desert critters nibbled the insulation material under the hood while parked @ a national forest for only 2 days. WTH!? I guess they like the Hiroshima brand the best!

Mazda wires must taste good from all the wire chewing I've heard of.

I guess I like the cats at my condo even if they occasionally walk on car they'll run off the ones that chew like squirrels and rats.

It looks gorgeous, great job on it.

On day 4 of troubleshooting why the EPS died out of nowhere right after I installed my RB intake and air duct + changed the AC/water pump belts.
Done every ECU reset I can think of, new battery, alternator's good, no codes, power steering harness has been taken out,
scrubbed clean with contact cleaner and dielectric greased everything, and put back to no avail... Damned EPS warning light still on, and still no power steering... FML

Damn, that's one fine R3.

What did you use to fill in the chips, BTW? I have a few of those as well.
