I am not a body tech myself how ever a family member is and growing up I learned tricks of the trade helping with at home projects of ours, not counting stuff we already had only cost me about $450 with $300 of it for the door.

I got hit in almost the same spot (rear door, rear fender) about 6 yrs ago. Lost all the Mazda stickers that you would normally find on the rear door.

Good job! definitely saved yourself a lot of money, getting hit around that area sucks cuz even if its small, you get hit around the right spot and its the door the rear fender and sometimes the whole back wheel along with axle rotors brakes, etc. Most of the time insurance would have required all that if your fully covered. even if the wheel barley got scaved. You lucked out man good thing u didnt get hurt.

Almost every new car has Orange peel on it.

That's kind of what mine needs other passenger side where a kid keyed the back door into the front door. Not as bad as what you had to deal with, but VRM isn't cheap either.
