weird moment of my auxiliary fan

i drove my car to buy ice cream from some asian place... took me 30 mins back and fourth... after i parked my car... turned off my engine but the auxiliary fan just keeps on working.. set my alarm... still working.... then i turn it on but didnt start the engine then it stopped... does anyone know if that's normal or should i get it fix??? and if something is wrong, what is it? thanks....

ferg 06-27-2009 06:28 PM

if you run the car hard it will do it

Brettus 06-27-2009 06:49 PM

OK - you got your first "search noob" question out of the way .

If you next ask about what oil to use we will send someone around to educate you :balls:

Jedi54 06-27-2009 07:12 PM

Next time go for Italian, the damn Chinese food places always cause the fans to keep going. ;)

On a serious note: it's common for the fans to keep running after you shut off the car. This will happen after you've driven the car quite hard, especially in warmer climates.
You CAN override the fans and turn them off but I usually recommend people just let them keep going.

sanyok 06-27-2009 07:47 PM

:lol2: @ jedi i was thinking the same thing about the chinese

DarkLord7854 06-28-2009 12:43 AM

Most cars do this..

cjkim 06-28-2009 12:50 AM

Give an Asian a cup filled with Ice and hand him a Playboy, then wait 10 minutes.

04RX8man 06-28-2009 02:17 PM

^and u know this how??

rev29k 06-28-2009 02:38 PM

The aux fan kind of freaked me out when I first heard it (it was 105* out the day I bought mine), but then assumed it was just normal.

Oh, asian ice cream, all it is is rice flavored ice cream.

911SC 06-28-2009 10:20 PM

And you wasted a half hour for ice cream flavored rice?!

sanyok 06-28-2009 10:55 PM

no rice flavored ice cream :P
