Weight of factory rims

Does anyone know the weight of the factory rims, without the tire on it? I am debating on weather to replace them when I put new tires on, But I don't want heavier rims.

Wait.....

You could try the post in the Tech Garage section - the one entitled "Weight of Stock Parts".

It's stickied at the front of the section.

(....did you know that the plastic Engine Cover - 2.3lbs? :Eyecrazy: )

I weighed one on my bathroom scale (weight with me holding one minus weight of just me) and it was 22 lbs.

22 lb seems to be the number. In order for me to get significantly below that, I would have to spend over$2000 for rims that I like. I would rather save that resource for the afsc.

Thanks,

John

Enkei RPF-1, 19" x 8.5" 42mm offset, 19.5#s per wheel. That there is a no-shit weight savings, even though 19" tires in a 245/35 width/profile combo weigh about 1 lb more per tire.

That's a great wheel, but if you're after performance, get 17's not 19's. Tires are cheaper. And obviously the 17" RPF1 weighs less than the 19".

I like the Idea of going to 17's. Lower "rotational mass" is better for accelerating and braking.
